The New Group celebrates its 20th Anniversary Season with a one-night-only benefit reading of Jonathan Marc Sherman's Things We Want, reuniting director Ethan Hawke with the complete original cast of the critically-acclaimed 2007 world premiere production at The New Group: Paul Dano, Peter Dinklage, Josh Hamilton and Zoe Kazan.

Perseverance Theatre (PT) starts the New Year off with the award winning play The Mountaintop by Katori Hall. The Mountaintop runs on the Perseverance Theatre Mainstage January 9, 2014 - February 1, 2015.

At FST the hairspray is still holding strong. Due to popular demand Florida Studio Theatre is pleased to announce the final two-week extension of Hairspray through January 24, 2015. The Dramatists Guild Fund awards $170,000 to theaters across the country. As a part of its mission to support writers, the Dramatists Guild Fund provides grants to non-profit theaters and theatrical institutions across the country that develop and/or produce contemporary American plays and musicals.

Playhouse on Park continues its Main Stage series with the 2001 Pulitzer prize-winning and Tony award-winning show Proof written by David Auburn, which opens Friday, January 23 at 8:00 p.m. Proof follows the young Catherine, who faces her father Robert's untimely death on the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday. While she may have inherited her father's genius, Catherine seems to share the same deteriorating wits and emotional instability. She must also face the arrival of Claire, her estranged sister; and a developing relationship with Hal, a mentee of her late father who seeks to find a mathematical breakthrough hidden within the 103 notebooks Robert left behind. Proof will be playing from January 21-February 8, 2015.

Long Wharf Theatre, led by Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, presents Forever, written and performed by Dael Orlandersmith, from January 2 through February 1, 2015 on Stage II. The press opening is Wednesday, January 7 at 7:30 pm.

The newly-formed Fourth Monkey Ensemble's production of Elephant Man receives its London premiere at the Jack Studio Theatre 3rd-21st February (not Sundays/ Mondays), press night: Wednesday 4th February. Its UK tour, which commenced last October, then continues at the Marlowe Studio, Canterbury (26/27th February), Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton (6th March), Courtyard Theatre, Hereford (25/26th March), Arts Centre, Dorchester (27th March) and Arts Centre, Bridport (28th March).

Tarragon Theatre presents the remount of its award-winning, critically acclaimed production of Lungs, written by British playwright Duncan Macmillan, directed by Weyni Mengesha, and starring Lesley Faulkner and Brendan Gall. Winner of a Toronto Theatre Critics' Award for Best Production of a Play in the 2013-2014 Toronto season, and nominated for four Dora Mavor Moore awards, this celebrated drama opens tonight, December 31 2014 and runs to Sunday, January 25 2015 in Tarragon's Extraspace.

Arden Theatre Company continues its 27th season of great stories with Under the Skin, a world premiere by local playwright Michael Hollinger. Terrence J. Nolen directs. Under the Skin runs from January 15, 2015 - March 15, 2015, on the Arden's Arcadia Stage at 40 N. 2nd Street in Philadelphia. The development of Under the Skin was funded in part by the Independence Foundation New Theatre Works Initiative.

The San Antonio Symphony along with numerous festival partners is poised to begin its fifth annual city-wide winter composer festival, this year focusing on the late-Romantic German composer Richard Strauss. Opening in January, the Festival features a wealth of music by Strauss, including a collaboration with OPERA San Antonio for an undertaking of his epic opera Salome.
