Danny Bernardy Stars in MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING from Saturday

Danny Bernardy is set to take on the role of leading male "Andrew Polinski" in the hit Off-Broadway comedy "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" opposite creator Anthony J. Wilkinson. Bernardy will be replacing Brandon Goins who took his final bow Saturday night after almost two years in the role. Goins is currently the longest to play the role since the production was conceived back at the Actors Playhouse back in 2003.

Danny returns to St Lukes after originating the role of Buck in the hit Cougar the Musical directed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett. Having just returned to NY after playing Tony Whitcomb in a side-splitting six month engagement with the Kennedy Center company of Shear Madness. Regional highlights: Maple and Vine (American Conservatory Theater), Moon Over Buffalo (Cape Playhouse, starring Gary Beach), Spamalot (Florida Studio Theatre), The Underpants (Florida Studio Theatre), Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Delaware Theatre Co), Vincent in Brixton (Virginia Stage Co.). TV credits include ABC's One Life to Live (recurring), CBS' As the World Turns alongside national commercial and voiceover work. Film: includes the critically acclaimed Curious Thing trilogy. Danny is a core member of the New York based One Year Lease Theater Company which is known for premiering new work and for it's annual artistic residency in northern Greece.

Brandon Haagenson will also be joining the cast this weekend in the role of the misunderstood villain "Gregorio," replacing Gabe Bowling. Both Haagenson and Bernardy are set to run thru the end of March. Presented by Bianco Productions, My Big Gay Italian Wedding is directed by Emmy Award-winning director Sonia Blangiardo ("All My Children", "One Life To Live, "As the World Turns", "Tainted Dreams") and star its creator Anthony J. Wilkinson who originated the role of Anthony Pinnunziato back in November of 2003. Both shows are General Managed by 22Q Entertainment.
