Danny Bernardy Stars in MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING from Saturday

Danny Bernardy is set to take on the role of leading male "Andrew Polinski" in the hit Off-Broadway comedy "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" opposite creator Anthony J. Wilkinson. Bernardy will be replacing Brandon Goins who took his final bow Saturday night after almost two years in the role. Goins is currently the longest to play the role since the production was conceived back at the Actors Playhouse back in 2003.

Danny returns to St Lukes after originating the role of Buck in the hit Cougar the Musical directed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett. Having just returned to NY after playing Tony Whitcomb in a side-splitting six month engagement with the Kennedy Center company of Shear Madness. Lynne Taylor-Corbett), Love's Labour Lost (NY Classical Theatre), Phaedra's Love (Cherry Lane), Every Girl Gets Her Man (SoHo Playhouse), Other NY: The Black Dahlia at the York, 24 NY Theater Workshop, Distant Thunder Amas Musical Theatre, directed by Shaun and Lynne Taylor-Corbett, as well as engagements at Don't Tell Mama, 54 Below, and the Laurie Beechman. Regional highlights: Maple and Vine (American Conservatory Theater), Moon Over Buffalo (Cape Playhouse, starring Gary Beach), Spamalot (Florida Studio Theatre), The Underpants (Florida Studio Theatre), Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Delaware Theatre Co), Vincent in Brixton (Virginia Stage Co.). TV credits include ABC's One Life to Live (recurring), CBS' As the World Turns alongside national commercial and voiceover work. Film: includes the critically acclaimed Curious Thing trilogy. Danny is a core member of the New York based One Year Lease Theater Company which is known for premiering new work and for it's annual artistic residency in northern Greece.

Brandon Haagenson will also be joining the cast this weekend in the role of the misunderstood villain "Gregorio," replacing Gabe Bowling. Both Haagenson and Bernardy are set to run thru the end of March. Presented by Bianco Productions, My Big Gay Italian Wedding is directed by Emmy Award-winning director Sonia Blangiardo ("All My Children", "One Life To Live, "As the World Turns", "Tainted Dreams") and star its creator Anthony J. Wilkinson who originated the role of Anthony Pinnunziato back in November of 2003. Both shows are General Managed by 22Q Entertainment.

The cast of Wedding currently also includes Anthony J. Wilkinson as Anthony, Hugh Hysell as Maurizio, Donna Castellano as Angela, Marissa Rosen as Maria, Debra Toscano as Toniann, Liz Gerecitano as Lucia, Meagan Robar as Connie, Erik Ransom as Rodney, Chad Kessler as Joseph and Father Rosalia, BJ Gruber as Mario, Matt Gregorio as Frankie, and ensemble member Fred Ross.
