FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! Begins 9/17 at 710 Main Theatre

The VH Theatrical Development Foundation announces that after an acclaimed Off-Broadway engagement last fall, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! (formerly titled THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN), a new play by best-selling author Laura Pedersen FROM BUFFALO, will open the 2015-2016 Frey Electric Construction Co.  Season at the 710 Main Theatre (formerly Studio Arena Theatre) in Buffalo, New York, with a limited engagement scheduled to play Thursday, September 17 - Sunday, October 4, 2015.  Directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! is set in Buffalo, where Ms. Pedersen was born and raised. 

Chan Centre to Open Season with Duet by Poet and Composer

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents the Vancouver premiere of Blackbird, Fly, an uplifting performance interweaving movement, narrative, Haitian folklore, and hip hop, September 25 at 7:30pm in the Telus Studio Theatre. The provocative duet, featuring charismatic spoken-word poet Marc Bamuthi Joseph and cutting-edge violinist and composer Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), unveils the artists' life-stories as they discover their mutual Haitian cultural identities, while also inviting audiences to examine themes of immigration, tolerance and inclusion.

World Premiere of A.R. Gurney's LOVE & MONEY Begins Off-Broadway

Casting is set for Signature Theatre's world premiere of A.R. Gurney's new play Love & Money, directed by Mark Lamos. The production runs tonight, August 15, to September 27, 2015 with an August 24, 2015 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The show is a co-production with Westport Country Playhouse.

Pipeline Theatre Company to Present Andrew Farmer's THE GRAY MAN at Walker Space, 9/24-10/18

Pipeline Theatre Company will present the World Premiere of Andrew Farmer's haunting play The Gray Man, September 24-October 18 at Walker Space (46 Walker Street between Broadway and Church Street). Performances will be Wednesday through Sunday at 8pm with additional performances on Saturday at 5pm and Tuesday, October 13 at 8pm. Early bird tickets ($20) will go on sale August 20. Regular ticket sales ($25) will begin September 3. Tickets will be available for purchase online at www.pipelinetheatre.org. The show runs approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.
