Chapter NY has announced Willa Nasatir's second solo exhibition with the gallery. For her first show, Nasatir exhibited four photographs; this exhibition will feature four paintings. In her previous photographic work, Nasatir incorporates found objects to restage filmic tropes that connote sensations of suspense, seduction, and crisis. Often alluding to narrative techniques, she simultaneously withholds any coherent message.

The exhibition features a series of recent paintings of topiary mazes and a selection of dog drawings, presented together for the first time.   Mrozowski's practice engages seriality and repetition to reveal unexpected nuance in forms derived from the natural world. His banal subjects-often sourced from encyclopedic volumes-assume new meaning within his constructed environments.

The Dallas Art Fair has announced the opening of 214 Projects, a 2,500-square-foot permanent exhibition space and cultural venue in the Dallas Design District. The space will open Saturday, March 2, 2019, with Emmanuel Van der Auwera: White Noise, a solo exhibition supported by Belgian gallery Harlan Levey Projects, who has been a Dallas Art Fair exhibitor since 2015.

{Re}HAPPENING 9 - Cunningham Centennial Comes To BMC Campus

Since 2010, Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (BMCM+AC) has hosted the {Re}HAPPENING inspired by John Cage's 1952 Theatre Piece No. 1, an unscripted performance at Black Mountain College considered by many to be the first Happening. The annual {Re}HAPPENING brings together dozens of contemporary artists whose work responds to and extends the legacy of Black Mountain College visionaries such as John Cage, David Tudor, Merce Cunningham, M.C. Richards and Robert Rauschenberg. The 2019 {Re}HAPPENING celebrates the influence of non-western music on such legendary artists by showcasing contemporary musicians who continue the legacy of experimental music within a global context. As part of the international Merce Cunningham Centennial Celebration, BMCM+AC will juxtapose these contemporary performances and installations alongside projections of historic Cunningham dance footage, including Variations V, a collaboration with John Cage and fellow BMC faculty Stan VanDerBeek.
