It was an early-bird very special event in Florida yesterday as The Footlighters Club of South Florida honored their President Errol Dante who was celebrating his 80th birthday.  Many spoke in praise of entertainer Errol who in addition to having a long a successful career in show business has also dedicated his time and efforts to senior entertainers who benefit from the charity of the Footlighters club.  

 Olivia Hollaus, Board Chair of the Boca Raton Historical Society (BRHS), joined with Mary Csar, Executive Director of The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum, to welcome 300 friends and supporters to the nonprofit organization’s 50th anniversary Golden Jubilee.  Check out photos here!

The Boca Raton Historical Society today announced the 2022 Walk of Recognition inductees. The annual honor goes to individuals and organizations that have “served for the interest of our community and have enriched the lives of the citizens of the Boca Raton.”

The Board of Trustees of the Boca Raton Historical Society celebrated the $3-million renovation and official re-opening of The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum last weekend with three days of special preview weekend events for friends and supporters of every age.

The Opelika Songwriters Festival, a new annual event based in Opelika, Alabama, has added Shawn Mullins as the headliner for the festival, which will entertain music fans at its inaugural celebration over Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-26, 2019) at multiple venues in the town's historic downtown. Opelika recording studio/event center The Sound Wall and Russell Carter Artist Management out of Atlanta (producer of the 30A Songwriters Festival in Florida) are co-producing the event in conjunction with The Arts Association of East Alabama. Confirmed sponsors include the City of Opelika, Auburn Opelika Tourism, Opelika Observer, W. James Samford Jr Foundation, United Johnson Brothers of Alabama, Wings 94.3FM, ESPN 106.7FM, WANI 98.7FM, WLEE 96.3FM, Autosport Bodyworks, Auburn Bank, and Sundilla Concert Series. A portion of the net proceeds from the festival go to benefit The Arts Association of East Alabama. Attendees from across the Southeast and further afield are expected to gather for this very special event.

Circumcise Me is (www.CircumciseMeThePlay.com) Yisrael Campbell's hilarious show at The Bleecker Street Theater (45 Bleecker Street). Tickets for the show are now on sale through May 16th. Ben's Deli (209 W. 38th Street) is honored the show by unveiling The Circumcise Me 'BRIS' - ket sandwich at noon on February 17th. The sandwich is sliced brisket and cole-slaw on rye bread with a pickle (with the ends cut off, of course) and chopped liver on the side.
