by BWW News Desk

Transformation. A mating ground. The sense of freedom and possibility. The desperation to control a need and suppress a fear. The shared experiences of alienation and rejection. A place of sex, substances and secrecy. A place where the law of the jungle rules over all. Man-?Cub is a newly devised piece that blurs the lines of movement, theatre and personal politics.

BWW Feature: LIVING RECORD COLLECTION Creator Salty Brine Would Like to Solve the Puzzle
by Troy Frisby
- May 31, 2017
Salty Brine's shows may be the closest thing you'll get to an M. Night Shyamalan-level twist in cabaret, though you could never accuse him of prizing shock value over story.
Because, above all, Brine's shows in THE LIVING RECORD COLLECTION are conceptually taut, including his latest, WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE. Even when, to the audience, it may seem like he's about to drive over a cliff, he has an escape hatch at the ready.

BWW Review: THE JUNGLE BOOK at Imagination Stage
by Elliot Lanes
- Apr 27, 2017
Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book has seen no shortage of adaptations. In addition to its original print form, it's the source for two Disney movies, and a stage adaptation at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago a few years back. Would-be adaptors face as slight problem in that while there is lots of fun within Kipling's stories about a human child named Mowgli being raised by wolves, the story also has a dark side to it that might not work well for the youngest of theatregoers. Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland is currently presenting a new adaptation by Greg Banks of Kipling's work, which will leave your little ones engaged from beginning to end without clawing you to go into the lobby. Older kids and adults are also likely to enjoy themselves, making it a theatergoing experience for the whole family.
