Denver Children's Theatre to Celebrate 20th Anniversary with THE JUNGLE BOOK

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, the Denver Children's Theatre presents THE JUNGLE BOOK, opening on Sunday, March 12th at 11 a.m. This professionally staged production will be presented to the public on Sundays through April 30th at 1 p.m. and to school groups most weekdays March 9th through May 5th at 10 a.m. The show is presented in the Elaine Wolf Theatre at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center located at 350 S. Dahlia Street in Denver. The show is recommended for children ages 6 and up.

Pennsylvania Ballet II (PBII) will take families on a magical journey in their upcoming performances of The Jungle Book at The Prince Theater on Saturday, February 25th with a sensory friendly performance on Sunday, February 26th. Based on Rudyard Kipling's collection of stories from 1894, The Jungle Book uses dancers to portray animals in order to teach moral lessons and tell their quirky tales.

This play took me 28 years.
1988 marked the 70th anniversary of the end of the First World War. To commemorate it, an 'Armistice Festival' was held in London, which, like the Edinburgh Festival, included a fringe open to anyone. I am ashamed to admit that I was a rather precocious 18 year old, and called the director of the festival, Tim McHenry, to suggest to him my idea of a one-man play about war poet Wilfred Owen.

You may think you know Rudyard Kipling's THE JUNGLE BOOK, but you may not have seen it through the eyes of playwright Greg Banks who takes the well-known story written in 1894 and brings it into now. Is the story new? Not really. Are there any big surprises? Not so much. Then what makes it new? I believe that it's the refreshing simplicity.
THE JUNGLE BOOK Opens at The Rose This Month

In an original take on a classic story, The Rose Theater will transform into the jungles of India in their upcoming production of The Jungle Book. This thrilling adventure story follows the story of Mowgli, a baby in India who wanders away from his village and into the jungle where he is raised by wolves. The 70-minute production opens at The Rose on Oct. 28 and continues through Nov. 13.
