ROSS VALLEY PLAYERS presents the Pulitzer Prize winning play Harvey, by American Playwright Mary Chase. Harvey tells the story of Elwood P. Dowd, a mild-mannered, pleasant man, who claims his best friend is an invisible, over 6 foot tall white rabbit named Harvey.

New inscriptions to the nation's only Nobel Monument were unveiled on September 22 by NYC Parks Commissioner Veronica M. White, Ambassador of Sweden to the U.S. Bjorn Lyrvall, Ambassador of Norway to the U.S. Kare Aas, and Dr. Robert J. Lefkowitz, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry of 2012. Also in attendance was Dr. Peter Agre, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry of 2003; Dr. Robert Wilson, Nobel Laureate in Physics of 1978; Dr. Lee Goldman, Dean of the Columbia University Medical Center; Jean Donahue, principal at the Bronx High School of Science; as well as several members of the New York Academy of Sciences and faculty from New York University and Columbia University. HERE begins its 2013-2014 producing season with the premiere of the site-specific Artistic Director production, Trade Practices, by Kristin Marting & David Evans Morris. Trade Practices, a new work exploring the notion of "value" against the backdrop of the booms and busts of the past decade, is set to play October 18 - November 3. Official Opening Night is set for Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00pm. Trade Practices will take place at a site in lower Manhattan's Financial District; address to be announced.

Irina Brook continues her father Peter's tradition at La MaMa with Shakespeare's Sister (or La Vie Materielle), which adapts Virginia Woolf's A Room Of One's Own and Marguerite Duras' La Vie Materielle. Adapted and directed by the younger Brook, the work is set at a fantasy dinner party, where five women prepare the cuisine while singing, dancing and discussing their place in the world. La MaMa will present the New York Premiere today, September 20 - October 6 at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 East 4th Street).

The five-time Grammy-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus-Lisa Bielawa, Artistic Director, and Valerie Sainte-Agathe, Music Director and Principal Conductor-- will present two holiday concerts,December 6 and 22 at First Congregational Church in Berkeley and Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, respectively. The 40-voice San Francisco Girls Chorus will present "Noel, Noel" Friday, December 6, at 8 pm at First Congregational featuring holiday favorites and an audience sing-along. These 40 award-winning young artists will be joined by the full complement of nearly 400 members of the San Francisco Girls Chorus School, from ages 5 to 18, for the annual Davies Hall holiday extravaganza, Sunday, December 22, at 8 pm. This year's edition, entitled "Hark, the Herald Angels Swing!" will feature the Marcus Shelby Quintet and Shelby's new arrangements of "Go Tell It On The Mountain" and "Hark the Herald" written especially for the San Francisco Girls Chorus plus other seasonal favorites and an audience sing-along. The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the eighth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country.

August Strindberg Repertory Theatre (www.strindberg.org), which was formed in 2012 to illuminate Strindberg's plays for today's American audiences, will present the English language premiere of Strindberg's 'Mr. Bengt's Wife' (1882), directed by Craig Baldwin (Associate Artistic Director of Red Bull Theater) tonight, September 6 to 29, 2013 at the Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, where August Strindberg Rep is the resident company.
