Pig Iron School Inaugural Class Graduates Today

The Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training (or APT), a two-year program designed to give performers a comprehensive immersion in the world of ensemble- devised and physical theatre, will graduate its first class of 15 students today, June 7, 2013. The graduation will be preceded by showings of student-created work on June 4-6 at Christ Church Neighborhood House for the Performing Arts (7:30 each night), which are free and open to the public.

Artistic Director Robert Lyons presents the 20th annual Obie Award-winning Ice Factory Festival. Ice Factory 2013 takes place at the New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. Hadley Fraser to Star in U.S. Premiere of Matt Charman's THE MACHINE at Park Avenue Armory

Casting has been announced for Matt Charman's new play, The Machine, which will have its U.S. premiere at Park Avenue Armory September 4-18 and its world premiere at Manchester International Festival July 10-21. Hadley Fraser will star as chess Grandmaster Garry Kasparov. Fraser has recently starred as Sid in The Pajama Game at Chichester Festival Theatre and is known, amongst other roles, for his portrayal of Javert in Les Miserables in the West End. Francesca Annis will play Garry's mother, Clara. Recently seen on television in Cranford, Annis' film credits include Revolver, The Libertine, and Milk. The wunderkind engineer behind Deep Blue, Doctor Hsu will be played by Kenneth Lee, who starred in US comedy drama Delocated.

James Black and Elizabeth Bunch to Star in AGATHA CHRISTIE'S THE HOLLOW at Alley Theatre; Full Cast Announced!

Beginning in July 2013, the Alley Theatre will produce Agatha Christie's The Hollow during its popular ExxonMobil Summer Chills series. Under the direction of Gregory Boyd, the Alley's resident company of actors will bring to life the colorful cast of characters in Agatha Christie's The Hollow.

Neil Goldberg's MIDNIGHT MOMENT to Appear Every Night in June at Times Square

A video created by New York City-based artist Neil Goldberg will be shown every night in June as part of a synchronized program on over fifteen of the largest digital screens in Times Square. Goldberg's work, Surfacing, will premiere just Before Midnight on June 1st and play throughout the month as part of the Midnight Moment, a presentation of the Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts.

Park Avenue Armory Presents Paul McCarthy Exhibit, 6/18

This June, Park Avenue Armory unveils a new large-scale installation and video project by artist Paul McCarthy, considered among the most provocative and influential voices in the international art world today. Drawing inspiration from the 19th-century German fairytale Snow White and McCarthy's ongoing exploration of American myths and icons, WS takes over the Armory's Wade Thompson Drill Hall from June 19 through August 4, 2013, and marks the Armory's seventh major visual art installation to date. The monumental installation weaves together a fantastical forest and a three-quarter-scale house modeled after McCarthy's own childhood home with multi-channel video projections to immerse visitors in a world of fantasy and depravity. A press preview for WS will be held at the Armory on June 18, 2013.

ANIKAI Dance Company to Bring THE KNOCKING WITHIN to Montreal Fringe, June 15-23

ANIKAI Dance Company comes to Montréal for the first time to present The Knocking Within. Just coming off a tour in India, where the show played to standing-room only audiences and received rave reviews, The Knocking Within will be at the MAI, as part of the Montreal Fringe Festival, before returning to Boston for a an extended return engagement. The Knocking Within is created by performers Wendy Jehlen and Pradhuman Nayak with lighting design by Stephen Petrilli.

Hybridge Arts Collective to Present Stuart Meyers' ON THE ROCKS, 6/24-25

This June, Hybridge Arts Collective will present On the Rocks, the newest solo work of emerging dance artist, Stuart Meyers (in collaboration with Adam Kerbel.) This production will mark the 3rd installment of Blueprint Breakout Series, a 3-month partnership that culminates in a World Premiere performance at Broad Street Ministry. On the Rocks is an evening-length solo that electrifies and transforms the performance space of this Center City community arts hub.

Jonah Bokaer's 'The Ulysses Syndrome,' will receive its U.S. premiere when it is performed as part of FIAF's World Nomads Festival, which this year focuses on Tunisia, the place of Bokaer's father's birth. The dance will be performed tonight, May 9 and tomorrow, May 10, at Florence Gould Hall.

After more than seven months of playing to packed houses in Santa Monica and North Hollywood, Smoke and Mirrors - a heartfelt comedy-drama with mind-bending magic that has been named 'Critics Choice' in the Los Angeles Times - has extended its run again at The Road on Lankershim, 5108 Lankershim Blvd in NoHo. Smoke and Mirrors is now set to run through Sunday, June 30.
