When Phoebe Waller-Bridge is galvanised by a new voice, expectations are likely to be high. The actor / writer enjoyed great success with her own one woman show Fleabag, which ran at Soho Theatre. As a judge for the 2020 Verity Bargate Award, Waller-Bridge and others, including Russell T Davies, deemed Amanda Wilkin’s monologue Shedding a Skin the winner. Now playing to standing ovations in that same venue, it isn’t hard to see why.

Amazon Prime Video and National Theatre have today announced a collaboration which will see four productions filmed by the National Theatre broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and Ireland from 11 June.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is known for creating, writing, and starring in the BBC comedy-drama series Fleabag (2016–2019), and for developing and writing the BBC America thriller series Killing Eve (2018–present).

James Corden welcomes his friend David Tennant to the show, and David immediately sets the tone for a great chat thanks to his pink blazer. After the two discuss the pains of homeschooling, James asks David about Melissa Von Stressel, the name of his fake assistant that he used to get out of gigs and requests he didn't have the heart to say no to directly. And David talks about the process of making 'Staged' with his wife, Georgia, Michael Sheen and Simon Evans.

Season 2 of BBC's Staged, starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant, premieres exclusively on Hulu on Tuesday, March 16.

With all of this time in a room by myself, I’ve turned to the old  standby, dream castings, to occupy my time. And let me tell you—I would pay good  money to see any of these shows. So, without further ado, here are just a few of the  castings I’ve dreamt up during quarantine.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been appointed in the role of President of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society. The position, which is the first of its kind, will see Waller-Bridge act as a representative and advocate for the Fringe Society, the charity that exists to support everyone who wants to participate in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. 

A star-studded list of guests will make appearances in season two, including Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Schwartz, Jim Parsons, Simon Pegg, Cate Blanchett, Nick Frost, Josh Gad, Christoph Waltz, Ken Jeong, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Ewan McGregor.
