Aleshea Harris' award winning play, Is God Is will be adapted for the screen by Scott Rudin and A24, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Harris will adapt her own work for the screen.

Playwright Lynn Nottage's 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning SWEAT, her raw take on the intertwining issues affecting a close-knit group of Reading, Pennsylvania townsfolk, has just opened at the Mark Taper Forum. Portraying Cynthia, the inescapable lightning rod in SWEAT's volatile scenario, Nottage stalwart Portia brings a human face to a multiple of 'faceless' generalized preconceptions. TRUE WEST is a dark, yet humorous play by the late Sam Shepard, one of America's foremost playwrights. Joe Short directs a stellar cast of Nael Nacer, Alexander Platt, Mark Cohen, and Marya Lowry in a story of family dysfunction, dramatic conflict, and sibling rivalry, set in a Southern California suburb where Hollywood and the Mojave Desert compete to influence the lives of a pair of brothers.

Mixed Blood is the only regional theater in America producing, in the playwright's words, this "nuanced exploration of Black female anger."  IS GOD IS "explores the taboo of black female anger and the complexity of survival. It's terrifyingly funny and absurdly violent. It's about love and loyalty sisterhood and rivalry," says director Nataki Garrett.

From September 14 to October 13, 2018, SpeakEasy Stage Company will proudly present the New England premiere of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize-winning play BETWEEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY.  

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 39th season of professional theater with Sam Shepard's modern American classic, True West from August 17 through September 8 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Directed by Joe Short, True West explores the explosive conflict between two brothers: Austin, the successful family man; and Lee, the nomadic drifter and petty thief. 

Adjusted Realists will present a public reading of Spa Play ,a new play by Relentless Award winner Gracie Gardner on Wednesday, August 8th at 8pm in the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street at 10th Avenue). The reading will be directed by Will Taylor and the cast features Dominique Brillion and Brian Miskell (Peace For Mary Frances).

Marlyn Mason and filmmaker Lorraine Portman will be in attendance at The Rhode Island International Film Festival. Their short film FALLING SOUTH plays Wednesday evening August 8that 6:00 pm with award winning documentary film INGRID and another short film starring Marlyn Mason, AN AFFAIR REMAINS. RIFF represents the New England premiere for FALLING SOUTH and the world premiere for AN AFFAIR REMAINS.

The 2017 Relentless Award, in honor of Philip Seymour Hoffman, was presented Monday evening, June 25, 2018, to Gracie Gardner for her play Pussy Sludge.
