T. Fellowship, in association with Columbia University School of the Arts, announces Jen Hoguet as the fourth fellow in the one-year program designed to educate and empower new creative producers. The fellow will receive a stipend of $10,000 with a $20,000 budget for the development of a new theatrical production. (more...)

Music Director Andres Orozco-Estrada and the Houston Symphony announced today that Mark Nuccio, current Associate Principal and Solo E-flat Clarinetist with the New York Philharmonic, has been appointed the Principal Clarinet of the Houston Symphony.  Nuccio will begin his new role in Houston during the week leading up to the 2015-16 Season's Opening Night concert on September 12, 2015.  He replaces former Principal Clarinet David Peck, who retired in 2013 after serving in that position for 33 years.  During the two-year interim, Associate Principal Clarinet Thomas LeGrand served as Acting Principal Clarinet. The Kennedy Center, in association with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, the National New Play Network (NNPN)-the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays-and with Stanford University's National Center for New Plays, will host more than 50 playwrights, directors, and dramaturgs from July 25 to August 2, 2015 as part of the 10th annual weeklong MFA Playwrights' Workshop featuring new works by MFA students from Columbia University, Northwestern University, Fordham University, Yale School of Drama, the Juilliard School, New York University-Tisch School of the Arts, University of California-San Diego, and the Juilliard School. Ten pianists have been chosen to advance to the Semifinals of Canada's Honens Piano Competition. The musicians (ages 22 to 30) come from six countries: Italy, Russia, South Korea, Ukraine, United Kingdom and United States. One pianist will be named the Honens Prize Laureate and win the world's largest award of its kind-$100,000 (CAN) and an artist development program valued at a half million dollars. The Semifinals and Finals of the Honens Piano Competition take place during the 2015 Honens Festival & Piano Competition in Calgary, September 3 to 12. (more...)
