In partnership with American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University, FWD will present the first musical written by one of the world's most prolific, important, and celebrated creative teams in history. Pre-dating Les Miserables, LA REVOLUTION FRANÇAISE was conceived as a concert rock opera and played to packed stadiums across Europe. Rebuilt to a full book musical, Chicago will host the show's premiere public staged reading with a huge company under the expert leadership of AMTP Artistic Director, David H. Bell. This premiere collaboration event will create enormous demand and the writers will join us FWD for their workshop and performances. Accomplished arts executive Scott Harrison has been appointed Executive Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), announces LACO Board President Dana Newman. Harrison, who assumes his post on October 6, 2015, handles responsibility for providing the vision, strategic direction and oversight of the organization.  Led by Music Director Jeffrey Kahane, LACO is considered one of the world's premier chamber orchestras.  Harrison comes to LACO from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) where he served as Vice President for Advancement and External Relations.  Having joined DSO in 2010 as Senior Director of Patron Engagement and Loyalty Programs, he was promoted to Executive Director of Board Engagement and Strategy in 2013 and to the Vice President role in 2014.  Harrison's extensive background with major orchestras also includes work with the symphony orchestras of Indianapolis, New Jersey, Dallas and Boston.  A bassoonist earlier in his career, Harrison performed with the Indianapolis Symphony, Shreveport Symphony and Dallas Wind Symphony, among others, in addition to performing on tour in the United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America.   He has taught bassoon in the US, Haiti, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Byron Street, kicks off Season 31: The Legacy Season with the co-world premiere of Fulfillment, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Ethan McSweeny, Nov. 6-Dec. 13, 2015 (press opening Thursday, Nov. 12). The Board of Directors for The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center today announced the appointment of veteran arts executive Wiley Hausam as the organization's new Artistic and Executive Director. Hausam will assume his new role at The Broad Stage, which presents the best in classical and jazz music, opera recitals, theater, dance and children's programming, on October 1. He will be charged with leading the Santa Monica cultural institution in the next phase of its journey-including the opening of its newly expanded $23 million East Wing facilities on the SMC Performing Arts campus in early 2016-while building on its successful seven year legacy.
