The ambassador of the Great American songbook and multi-platinum-selling, Emmy and Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Michael Feinstein brings an incomparable concert experience to Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 7 at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts.

"There's nothing formal about this but this dress." Kennedy Davenport's aside, just several minutes into her August 23 performance of THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO KENNEDY DAVENPORT at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, couldn't have been truer. And, to put it in RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE speak, that informality represented both the top and the bottom of the performance--- though, rest assured, nobody was in danger of elimination.

Ms. Lee and her musical collaborators, including pianists Brenden Lowe and Joe Gilman, bassist Buca Necak, and drummer Jeff Minnieweather, offer the type of cohesive, group interplay that only comes from playing together on a consistent basis. When that happens, it's as if the musicians are breathing in sync. Accordingly, the rhythm section provides the perfect magic carpet for Ms. Lee's musical peregrinations. She has been recognized as one of the premiere jazz artists in Sacramento and this recording shows why audiences so appreciate her talent.

Michael Feinstein and the Pasadena POPS close out their popular outdoor summer concert series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum on Saturday, September 8 with Broadway Goes to the Movies. The POPS season finale will provide a quintessential Feinstein experience with some of Broadway's greatest performers recreating songs from hit shows that traveled from 42nd St. to Hollywood. Deborah Grace Winer brings three new jewel box revues celebrating the Classic American Songbook to Feinstein's/54 Below this spring. The series kicks off on March 27th with 'You Took Advantage of Me: Rodgers and Hart on Love' starring Grammy-winner Debby Boone, OBIE-winner Darius De Haas and Tony-nominee Christiane Noll, backed up by a swinging all-star band headed by Musical Director John Oddo.

Master guitarist, producer, composer, musical director and arranger Terry Wollman has just released a new single, “No Problem,” already #1 most added onBillboard Smooth Jazz chart, SmoothJazz.com and Radio Wave Internet Airplay. The song, which he wrote, arranged and produced, features enviable musicians including Mindi Abair on alto sax, Greg Manning on keyboards, Hussain Jiffry on bass and John 'JR' Robinson on drums. “I absolutely love playing electric guitar. When I had the opportunity to go into the studio with these wonderful musicians, I knew this song was the perfect choice for a live recording session,” said Terry. He recorded the song, which he calls a “burning electric blues shuffle,” using his AC Plus, SP Compressor, EP Booster and Xotic Wah.
