Variety reports that Disney Plus is developing a new television series based on the 1989 film 'Turner & Hooch.'

 The upcoming Broadway production of the acclaimed musical Girl From the North Country has partnered with Facebook for an exclusive a?oeFirst Listena?? series of videos, recorded live from their downtown NYC Studio. The first video in the series features star Austin Scott (Hamilton) performing the iconic Bob Dylan song a?oeHurricane,a?? joined by cast members Jeannette Bayardelle, Luba Mason, Kimber Elayne Sprawl and Mare Winningham.

A new video was released today celebrating the hit musical Girl from the North Country. Filmed in the Dylan Room at the historic Troubadour in London, the video features stars Rachel John (Mrs. Neilsen in the West End and Toronto productions) and Jeannette Bayardelle (Mrs. Neilsen at The Public and on Broadway) meeting and performing together for the first time. Casting has been announced today for the Broadway production of the hit musical Girl from the North Country. Reprising their roles from the production at The Public Theater will be Todd Almond, Jeannette Bayardelle, Matthew Frederick Harris, Caitlin Houlahan, Robert Joy, Tony Award nominee Marc Kudisch, Luba Mason, Ben Mayne, Tom Nelis, Tony Award nominee David Pittu, Colton Ryan, John Schiappa, Kimber Elayne Sprawl, Rachel Stern, Chelsea Lee Williams, and Tony/Academy Award nominee & two-time Emmy Award winner Mare Winningham. Joining the production in the role of Nick Laine will be Jay O. Sanders. Complete casting will be announced soon.

Singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel will return to the Café Carlyle for her seventh engagement, October 1-5. Reviewing a previous residency at the legendary cabaret, The New York Times called Joel, daughter of music legend Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley, a?oea singer following her own heart.a?? Joel, who recently exuded characteristic warmth, humor, and musicality in the 2018 documentary Always at the Carlyle, will sing a mix of original songs, Broadway numbers anda?"alwaysa?"a tune from her dad and one from Ray Charles. a?oePeople don't know this, but my middle name is after my dad's favorite singer, Ray Charles, so I always pay homage,a?? she explains.

Deadline reports that Todd Haynes' latest feature film will get a limited release this fall, right before Thanksgiving.

Mare Winningham was seen most recently at The Public Theater in the Olivier Award-winning Conor McPherson/Bob Dylan musical Girl from the North Country. She has released four albums of original songs, including her a?oeJewgrassa?? (Jewish country folk) record, a collaboration with Tim Crouch, fiddle and mandolin player extraordinaire, who will be joining her onstage for the engagement alongside his brother, renowned bassist Dennis Crouch.
