SKB Records has announced the third month of the groundbreaking new music and video series LENA HALL Obsessed from the Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee. Lena Hall-helmed musical film Becks held its premiere last night, February 5, 2018. Becks is being released this Friday, February 9th in select cities across the country and VOD. It won this year's LA Film Festival and is Lena Hall's feature film debut in the lead role starring alongside Mena Suvari, Christine Lahti and Dan Fogler.

SKB Records has launched the groundbreaking new music and video series LENA HALL Obesssed from the Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee that begins today, Friday, January 5. Hall, a singular artist who authentically and explosively brings the worlds of Rock and Broadway together, will release a monthly series of EPs over the course of 2018. Obsessed consists of 12 EPs, each released on the first Friday of every month, featuring stripped-down, emotionally-intensive covers of one artist or band with whom Lena is obsessed. Performance music videos have been created for all 54 songs in the series and a new music video will premiere every week in 2018. Obsessed is produced by Justin Craig, Lena Hall and Kurt Deutsch. Your Kids, Our Kids (Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, Founding Directors) proudly presented the 3rd Annual VOICES FOR THE VOICELESS: Stars For Foster Kids, an event that brings together the very best performers from the American stage and screen to raise awareness about the plight of kids in foster care, particularly those aged 13 and older who are in danger of aging out of the foster care system alone.

Last night was one of those special kind of evenings in Manhattan. Members of the Broadway Cast of MISS SAIGON gave up their night off, to perform and raise money for NAAP (National Asian Artists Project). The conceit was the cast sing 'whatever they want' … and it worked. The young, attractive company of the current revival are very talented and events like these are always a reminder of how deeply gifted each individual member of a  company must, in order be to be able to explode with such power together, nightly, on the stage of the Broadway Theatre.

On August 6 (8PM) the Green Room 42 (570 10th Avenue) will welcome the cast of Miss Saigon on Broadway in a special benefit for the National Asian Artists Project.

On June 7, the Rockwell Table & Stage featured the stunning vocals of Michael Longoria. Smartly written by Longoria and his director Taylor James, Broadway standards received re-imagined, re-purposed raison-d'etre in advancing Longoria's fascinating narrative. Fashion Designer Malan Breton takes home the prestigious Men's Wear Award for Malan Breton HOMME's - Malan Breton.  Breton states, “I am honored and elated to win this award.  I was amongst some strong colleagues and truly respect their work so was surprised when I won.”   This is an amazing acknowledgment to have in my career, I am overwhelmed at this incredible win,” says the designer.

The new American musical Allegiance officially opened last night, November 8, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street, starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' star Telly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II. On Thursday, October 29, Delete Blood Cancer DMKS held their second annual Halloween-themed Blood Ball, a fundraising event supporting the organizations' work in the fight against blood cancers, at The Box in New York City. The fundraiser raised enough money to register thousands of new potential bone marrow donors.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present 'Show Biz After Hours With Frank DiLella,' a new talk/variety show hosted by the popular NY1 theater journalist. The first 'episode' took place on Monday, October 26, and Frank's guests included Laura Osnes and Corey Cott (the stars of THE BANDSTAND at Paper Mill Playhouse), original JERSEY BOY Daniel Reichard, Ali Stroker (one of the stars of SPRING AWAKENING) and the Tony nominated star of LEGALLY BLONDE, Orfeh. Stage, screen, and cabaret star Julie Wilson passed away yesterday, April 5, from complications from two recent stokes. She was 90 years old. Below, BroadwayWorld takes you back through the last two decades of her versatile career.
