The New York Philharmonic announced its schedule of broadcasts for May 2020. On select weekdays, the New York Philharmonic will post video of a past performance on Facebook and YouTube Premieres, simulating the experience of a live concert to foster a sense of community among classical music fans worldwide.

The New York Philharmonic has launched Mahler's New York: A Digital Festival (April 16-30) today. The two-week celebration invites online audiences to explore the life and work of the composer / conductor who served as their tenth Music Director.

Due to personal reasons, Elissa Lee Koljonen has withdrawn from the Sunday, April 5, 2020 concert with Pacific Symphony Chamber Orchestra. Replacing Koljonen will be acclaimed violinist Stefan Milenkovich. The original program is scheduled to be performed and includes Ticheli's Rest, for String Orchestra, a piece of fragile beauty and quiet dignity, and Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61, considered to be his most lyrical work, and the only concerto he wrote for one of the most popular instruments of his day: the violin.

Jan Vogler, the internationally acclaimed cellist extended his contract with the city of Dresden as Intendant of the Dresden Music Festival through 2026. The official agreement was made on January 31, 2020.

Pianist Haochen Zhang will make his debut with the New York Philharmonic on January 28, 2020 at 7:30 PM in its Lunar New Year Concert and Gala, conducted by Maestro Long Yu. Shanghai-born Zhang launched into the international spotlight in 2009 after becoming one of the youngest Van Cliburn International Piano Competition gold medalists and has since also been awarded a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2017.

The Utah Symphony Masterworks series continues with Maestro Fischer and Utah Symphony for Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto the last week in January, followed by an evening of Gershwin and Dvořák the first weekend in February. On January 31 and February 1 violinist Karen Gomyoa?"praised by the Chicago Tribune as a?oea??a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance and intensitya??a?"will bring her talents to Abravanel Hall. Highlights include the harrowing mountain expedition with Strauss' a?oeAn Alpine Symphony,a?? and a work by Utah Symphony Composer-In-Association Andrew Norman. The following weekend, February 7 & 8, pianist Joyce Yang and Utah Symphony will take the audience on a journey of jazz and classical music meeting. Highlights for the evening are the intoxicating, toe-tapping rhythms from a?oeOn the Towna?? and Gershwin's jazzy Concerto in F. The 50-member Dessoff Choirs continues its 95th season with a program dedicated to two of choral music's most influential composers, Britain's John Rutter and American Gregg Smith. Accompanied by pianist Steven Ryan, Dessoff performs two unforgettable choral gems: Rutter's The Sprig of Thyme, a collection of charming British folk songs for chorus, and Smith's The Continental Harmonist along with spirituals by Florence Price and Margaret Bonds sung by Dessoff's maestro, Malcolm J. Merriweather.

In a new collaboration, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra welcomes singers from the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program for scenes from Mozart's Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro in the second week of the 2020 Winter Festival, January 9-12. Edward Berkeley stage directs the performances.

Palm Beach Symphony (PBS) opens its landmark 46th season in spectacular fashion with an all-Beethoven Masterworks Series program featuring Cuban-American pianist Horacio Gutiérrez, four acclaimed soloists, three local choirs of 127 voices and the inaugural concert of award-winning classical musician and conductor Gerard Schwarz as the Symphony's music director on Sunday, December 8 at 3 p.m. at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.

Calling all musical adventurists! The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's new CSO Proof series offers a novel way to experience performances at Music Hall. The Greenwich Village Orchestra (GVO) presents its annual holiday concert, led by Music Director Barbara Yahr and Associate Conductor Eric Mahl, on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 3:00pm at All Saints Church. The concert's theme is Partnerships and Collaboration and features a side-by-side performance with student musicians from the 3rd Street Music School. The family-friendly program opens with Vivaldi's Flute Concerto in E-minor, with the GVO's own Simon Dratfield as soloist. The students from 3rd Street Music School join the GVO for Karl Jenkins' Palladio. Next, Eric Mahl leads the orchestra in the March from Prokofiev's Love for Three Oranges. Young violinist Ben Lerman performs the first movement of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D-major. The concert concludes with the finale of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherezade, featuring the high school students from the 3rd Street Music School.

Pegasus: The Orchestra will make their Merkin Hall debut on Saturday, November 23rd at 8pm led by conductor Karén! Hakobyan. Glenn Dicterow, the legendary former concertmaster of New York Philharmonic, will join Pegasus concertmaster Eiko Kano for Bach's Double Violin Concerto. Opening the program will be the world premiere of Hakobyan's Contempo: Bach Recombinant and to close, Tchaikovsky's beloved Serenade for Strings.

Carnegie Hall welcomes back two orchestras from the culturally rich city of Munich, Germany: Munich Philharmonic and Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO) this fall. On Friday, October 25 at 8:00 p.m., Music Director Valery Gergiev leads the Munich Philharmonic in Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No 1. with Behzod Abduraimov and Bruckner's Symphony No. 7. The following evening, Saturday, October 26 at 8:00 p.m. they return with Leonidas Kavakos playing Brahms's Violin Concerto. Also on the program is Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 and Jörg Widmann's Con brio.
