Conversation Starters, Tampa Repertory Theatre and Creative Loafing's series of staged readings of new plays, continues with Dog Act, a post-apocalyptic vaudeville by Liz Duffy Adams.  The reading will take place on February 13that 7:30pm in the Creative Loafing Space, 1911 N. 13th Street, Tampa, Florida 33605.  There will be a discussion with the cast and director after the reading.  Patrons can purchase tickets at TampaRep.org/Dog or at the door on the night of the performance, starting at 6:30pm.  The Bridge Initiative and Southwest Shakespeare Company are teaming up to present a world premiere free reading of Asterionby Liz Duffy Adams on Monday, September 5th, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., at SSC's rehearsal space, 55 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ, 85301. The play finds Asterion, the half-bull Minotaur of Greek legend, trapped in the labyrinth his sister Ariadne designed, alone except for the ghosts of the young sacrifices he has devoured. Now Ariadne and her borrowed hero, Theseus, are coming to kill him - unless he kills them instead. (more...)

Directed by Alice Reagen and featuring Company actress, Tod Randolph, as Aphra, Allyn Burrows as King Charles and Nehassaiu deGannes as Nell Gwynne. This world premiere production will integrate expressionistic audio, visual and movement interludes with the haunting literary text. Sue Mach's adaptation, conceived by Grace Carter and directed by Philip Cuomo, features Carter, Chris Harder and Christy Bigelow. The production runs tonight, January 13 - February 6, 2016.
