In a harmonic convergence that crosses cultural frontiers and breaks a centuries-old glass ceiling, The Cecilia Chorus of New York presents Skye, Bartók, von Martines, and Mozart, April 28 at 8:00 PM in Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall on 57th Street in Manhattan. The performance will be with chorus, soloists, children's choir, and orchestra. All three soloists will make their Carnegie Hall debut, including 2023 Houston Grand Opera winner Natalie Lewis.

The Audio Publishers Association has announced finalists for the 2023 Audie Awards®, the premier awards program recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report the passing of playwright Robert Eugene Somerfeld. He was 90 years old.

Additional casting has been announced for the upcoming benefit reading of Spare Rib by Winter Miller, hosted by Samantha Bee.  Joining Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, The Affair) is Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings, Irma Vep), Kelli Giddish (Law & Order: SVU), and Elizabeth Marvel (The Dropout, King Lear on Broadway).

TheaterWorksUSA  will bring  Dog Man: The Musical  back to New York, beginning its limited eight-week run on  March 4  through April 30 at New World Stages.

On January 23 at 7:00pm at The New York Society for Ethical Culture's Adler Hall, Winter Miller, in partnership with New York Theatre Workshop and The Public Theater, with support from NYFA (New York Foundation for the Arts) present a reading of Miller's play Spare Rib.

Bishop Arts Theatre Center (BATC) has commissioned nine local and nationally celebrated playwrights to pen a one-act play, no longer than 20 minutes, based on Pulitzer Prize-winning and New York Times bestselling author Nikole Hannah-Jones' The 1619 Project.
