Singer Lynn Henderson returns to Don't Tell Mama this spring with A Skitch in Time: My Friendship with Maestro Skitch Henderson, a tribute to the New York Pops founder who built the Pops from an idea to a beloved international institution. The two Hendersons, who are not related, met and bonded over music at a benefit dinner in Connecticut, where they both lived at the time. Skitch assisted Lynn, who was Chairnan of Deck The Halls benefits for New Milford Hospital, by bringing his New York Pops All Stars to Connecticut. He mentored Lynn as she created a show about his friend, Cole Porter, for a local club with a cast ranging in age from five to eighty five. Later, Lynn and her musicians brought her cabaret shows to Hunt Hill Farm - the cooking school, store and gallery which were the Connecticut home of Skitch and his smart, dazzling wife, Ruth. A Skitch in Time: My Friendship with Maestro Skitch Henderson is directed by Klea Blackhurst, with Musical Direction by Douglas J. Cohen. Bob Sabin will play bass. 

Already this year, Justin Sayre is working on a new book, a musical album produced by Julian Fleisher, and 'an episodic comedy-horror soap opera' called RAVENSWOOD MANOR, set to be performed like 'a live TV show,' among numerous other projects. But first, the ever-busy performer will return to Joe's Pub with a new series called JUSTIN SAYRE'S GAY-B-C'S: A BRIEF HISTORY OF GAY CULTURE IN 5 PARTS.

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will present HOLLYWOOD REVISITED as a special benefit to support Musical Theatre Guild's extensive youth outreach programs. The event, a perfect tie in with the company's "MTG Goes To The Movies" season theme, will take place at Burbank's Colony Theatre on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 7:30 pm.

Profiles in History, an auction house located in Southern California, announced on Wednesday that Liza Minnelli would be auctioning off more than 1,000 items from her personal collection of items, including items that belonged to her mother, Judy Garland, and her filmmaker father, Vincente Minnelli, in the auction dubbed 'Love, Liza'. The dazzling list of items includes her signature Cabaret costume -- the classic bowler hat, boots, and halter top vest included -- and her Cabaret script, complete with her hand-written annotations. In addition to these, the 'Love, Liza' auction will also include her 1971 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.

According to Deadline,  Finn Wittrock of American Horror Story Fame has been cast in the upcoming film JUDY, joining previously cast Renee Zellweger in the role of Judy Garland. The film is centered around the final London concerts of the great Judy Garland. Wittrock is set to play Mickey Deans, the fifth and final husband of the legend.

Artistic Director Mark Clements and Managing Director Chad Bauman are thrilled to announce Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 65th Anniversary Season which will be the largest season in over a decade featuring 15 productions across four venues with nearly 700 performances including expanded programming in the Stiemke Studio.

On February 7th, Dorothy, Toto, and all of their friends made a stop in Jackson, Mississippi on their way to the Emerald City. In addition to the young lady wearing the famous blue-checkered dress and ruby slippers on the stage, there were at least a dozen miniature Dorothys scattered throughout the audience in the auditorium of Thalia Mara Hall. The theater was packed with audience members of all ages who had come to experience the nostalgia and magic of the beloved movie musical The Wizard of Oz on stage.

The soulful songs and glamorous nightlife of the 1950s will swing once more when CabaretFest returns to Provincetown May 31 to June 3. Seasoned cabaret veterans from Boston, New York City and Palm Springs, along with newcomers, will participate in ten live shows, a Q&A session, two workshops, Marilyn Maye Master Class, networking, entertainment, an Open Mic party and education opportunities.

The Media Theatre is hosting a special evening Saturday March 3 entitled "There's No Place Like Home", with a one-night-only concert performance from two Broadway performers: Jenny Lee Stern and Nicholas Saverine. The setting is April 23, 1961, when a 38-year-old Judy Garland performed at Carnegie Hall in what the New York Times called 'the concert of the century.' Her Carnegie Hall appearance marked a huge comeback for the star. The live recording Judy at Carnegie Hall received five Grammy Awards and went Gold within a year. When Judy stepped out onto the stage at Carnegie Hall that night, the raucous standing ovation that greeted her was just the start of what has been called "the greatest night in show business history." Award-winning actress/singer Jody Briskey channels Judy Garland as she recreates that special night in Garland in Word and Song.

Nancy Manocherian's the cell (Artistic Director, Kira Simring) will present the Off Broadway Premiere of BASTARD JONES, a rock musical comedy based on Henry Fielding's bawdy 18th century novel, The History of Tom Jones. With book, lyrics, & direction by Marc Acito (Broadway's Allegiance) and music & lyrics by Amy Engelhardt (Grammy nominees The Bobs), performances begin June 14 at the cell. Opening is slated for Thursday, June 22.

Asolo Rep's Annual Gala: Old Hollywood at Cocoanut Grove, will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Art Ovation Hotel in downtown Sarasota. The largest fundraiser of Asolo Rep's season, chaired by Susan Malloy Jones, Elizabeth Moore, Jules Price and Michelle Senglaub, will begin at 6pm with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a seated dinner, paddle raise, live music and dancing. It will celebrate the famed Cocoanut Grove lounge and nightclub in Old Hollywood's Ambassador Hotel - a mecca for movie stars and synonymous with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's Golden Age.
