13th Street Rep's THEATER BOYS Cast Album Out 10/18

Famed gossip columnist Liz Smith -- "the Grande Dame of Dish" -- has won countless honors, including an Emmy Award, in her long career. But she's never before been depicted on the stage. In "Theater Boys" -- the new musical comedy by ASCAP Award-winner Chip Deffaa, now playing at the 13th Street Repertory Theater -- she's not only a character in the show, she's the subject of a whole song about her, a rousing fast-boogie simply titled "Liz Smith." That song will also be heard on the show's cast album (sung by Ricky Schroder and the ensemble), being released October 18th. (more...)

Seacoast Rep's Let's 'B' Reel Gets Witchy in October

Seacoast Repertory Theatre has announced that it's award winning film series, Let's 'B' Reel, will get a 'witchy' facelift for the month of October with 3 unique and interactive film screenings, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Portsmouth Halloween Parade. The 'Let's 'B' Witched' screenings also mark the one year anniversary of Let's 'B' Reel. Each week from October 8th-October 22nd The Rep will offer up a cult movie focusing on the horror subgenre of witches and witchcraft. Each will feature a unique and hilarious pre-show provided by hosts Timothy Fife and Bunny Wonderland (Knate Higgins). (more...)

?Chicago and Artistic Director Alex Garday are proud to announce The Mighty Ted, written by Ted Waltmire, directed by Jay Sukow and musical direction by Stephanie McCullough Vleck, plays Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. at MCL Chicago, 3110 N. Sheffield Ave., October 4 - November 16. The opening/press night is Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. The running time is 80 minutes including a 10-minute intermission. LCAD Selected by LG as One of the Winners in 'The Art of the Pixel' New Media Competition

Laguna College of Art and Design, LCAD was chosen as one of the top design schools by LG Electronic USA to participate and final in 'The Art of the Pixel: Powered by LG Ultra HD 4K and OLED TV' new-media art competition. LCAD Design and Digital Media program won $25,000 for the most popular votes. Senior student Dohee Yang was chosen as a finalist by Neil Patrick Harris and Digital Artist Mark Tribe at LG's gala event in New York on September 17, 2014. Yang received $5000 for her piece, 'Journey' which was selected from among 300 entries by students at nine of the nation's best art schools. (more...)
