Parity Productions, the New York based theatre company dedicated to producing new work and filling at least 50% of the creative positions (playwrights, directors, and designers) with women and/or trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) artists, has announced the full cast and crew for their world premiere production of Mirrors by Azure D. Osborne-Lee, a 2018 Parity Commission Winner, co-produced by India Blake/IB Productions and Cecelia Johnson/Deep End Productions, and directed by Parity's founder and Artistic Director, Ludovica Villar-Hauser, premiering at Next Door @ NYTW this February 29 through March 22.

On December 8th, The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene premiered The Sorceress (Di Kishefmakherin), a magical, musical Yiddish fantasy starring an innocent young heroine, her dashing fiancé, a devious stepmother, and a scheming witch that takes its audience into a world of illusion, intrigue, and suspense. Among the opening night guests were Jana Robbins and Haley Swindal. 

National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (Artistic Director Zalmen Mlotek and Executive Director Dominick Balletta), in association with Tony Award-winning Producer Ken Davenport, today announced that New York debut of the new musical Harmony by the legendary Barry Manilow and his longtime collaborator Bruce Sussman will be postponed until 2021 at the Museum of Jewish Heritage a?" A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, Edmond J. Safra Plaza, 36 Battery Place, NYC. The show was previously scheduled to start performances on February 11, 2020.

Casting Society of America (CSA) today announced the television and theatre nominees for the 35th Artios Awards, which honor the contribution of Casting Directors to film, television and theatre. The winners will be revealed on Thursday, January 30, 2020 in ceremonies in Los Angeles, New York City and London. Comedian, actor and writer Ron Funches will serve as host for the Los Angeles event.

The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) production of Fiddler on the Roof, in Yiddish with English Supertitles, will celebrate its one year anniversary on Wednesday, July 17 at Stage 42 (422 W 42nd St.).

Jamibeth Margolis has been a  professional casting director in New York for 20 years. She was with Johnson-Liff Casting, Cameron Mackintosh, and Margolis-Seay Casting and is now out on her own as a freelance casting director. Previous credits include the Broadway and National Touring Companies of such hits as Les Miserables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Miss Saigon, Cats, and Jane Eyre as well as two dozen other shows on Broadway. She also currently casts for Off Broadway, National Touring Companies and shows for prominent regional theaters and all of the major theater festivals in NYC. Her casting office is dedicated to the development of new plays and musicals. Yesterday, June 23, Mikhail Baryshinkov visited Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish. Following the curtain call, director Joel Grey came onstage to announce that Mikhail was in attendance.
