Heresy Records to Release New Album 'Testament' by Mel Mercier

On Friday 25th January 2019 Heresy Records will release Testament, an album of eleven compositions by Mel Mercier (b. 23. December, 1959), Composer/Percussionist/Professor and Chair of Performing Arts at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick. Mel was first introduced to music by his father, Peadar Mercier, a member of the Chieftains, who taught him to play the Irish traditional percussion instruments, the bodhrán and bones. As one of the world's leading Irish percussionists He has performed and recorded with many of the leading artists in this genre including, Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, Donal Lunny, Pallé Mikkleborg, Martin Hayes, Liam Ó Maonlaoi, Alan Stivell, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Caitríona O'Leary and Bill Whelan.

Since they published their first title, Mrs Klein by Nicholas Wright, alongside its National Theatre production in 1988, Nick Hern Books (NHB) has gone from strength to strength. The company now boasts over 1500 titles on their list, and a staff of thirteen based at their London office in Shepherd's Bush. In honor of their 30th birthday the company threw a party to celebrate. The production runs Wednesday 20 June 2018 - Saturday 11 August 2018 with press performances at 7pm Tuesday 26 June 2018 and 7.45pm Wednesday 27 June 2018. The reviews are embargoed until 11.59pm Wednesday 27 June 2018.

William Congreve's restoration classic originally premiered in 1700 and even though it bombed back then, nowadays it is adored for its bonkers farce and balletic lyricism. The story may be long; the play lasts three hours in total and as an audience your patience will be tested. But stick with it; the overall pay off will certainly be worth it.
