The Broadway League Foundation has revealed the team of theatre professionals and industry experts who will serve as coaches and judges during the 14th annual Jimmy Awards.

The Broadway League Foundation has revealed the 96 nominees who will be arriving to New York City to compete for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress as well as other honors and scholarships at the 14th annual Jimmy Awards® ceremony.

Roman Banks (Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen and “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”) will play the role of Michael Jackson in the First National Tour of MJ.  

 The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts announced the winners in all 13 categories of the 2023 CAPA Marquee Awards presented by American Electric Power Foundation at its annual student showcase, held May 25 at the Ohio Theatre.

Murfreesboro’s Siegel High School’s production of Les Misérables was named Outstanding Musical during The Spotlight Awards.

A panel of nationally recognized judges—including Danny Gorman, Anthony Jackson, and Tory Ross Roman—announced the 2023 winners of The Rita Moreno Awards held in-person at San Jose’s Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, May 8.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center has announced the 2023 representatives of the Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program; Luke Calaway of Ashwaubenon High School and Lily Davis of Hortonville High School will represent the program at The Jimmy Awards/National High School Musical Theatre Awards this June in New York City.

What did our critic think of INTO THE WOODS at James M. Nederlander Theatre?

I interviewed Tony Award winner Gavin Creel about his experience as The Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince in the national tour of Stephen Sondheim’s INTO THE WOODS. The production started as a City Center Encores staging and later transferred to Broadway. Now, Chicago audiences can see the tour — with some of the original Broadway company, including Gavin himself— through May 7.
