For this reason, they are excited to kick off their 2018 Summer Series with three programs of innovative and unorthodox short films from around the world. On Saturday, May 19, Rooftop will celebrate Opening Night in Green-Wood Cemetery with This is What We Mean by Short Films, a program that captures the adventurous spirit of the organization; on Friday, May 25 Rooftop will return to The Old American Can Factory in Gowanus for No Escape a selection of uncanny, disquieting mindbenders; and on Saturday, May 26 Rooftop will present its annual program of Dark Toons at Industry City.

Sandra Kaufmann, former soloist with the Martha Graham Dance Company will guest with Kanopy Dance in their concert entitled 'Dark Tales', a program of thought-provoking dance that ranges in styles from classical modern to physical theater, February 9-18 in Madison Wisconsin.   Ms. Kaufmann will appear in her original solo 'A People's Cry', a modern response to violence again women; and modern dance choreographer Deborah Zall's 'La Bonne Dame: Remembering George Sand', (the novelist who adopted a male persona to ply her craft more freely).  Ms. Kaufmann will also teach a master class at the Kanopy Studio on Thursday February 8.

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarotti Simoni, a contemporary of Leonardo di ser Peiro da Vinci was, like Leonardo a multi talented artist. Whereas Leonardo had his hands in weapons of minor mass destruction, botany, mathematics and dead bodies, Michelangelo worked in the three big fields of the day- painting, sculpture and architecture.
