On Saturday, November 17th, Barefoot Theatre Company celebrates the third annual Vassallo Awards with a Fall Gala beginning at 8pm at the SVA THEATRE in NYC on 333 W 23rd Street in Manhattan.

The ambitious series concludes with celebrated new hosts Helen Hunt, F. Murray Abraham, Romola Garai, Brian Cox, Simon Russell Beale and Sir Antony Sher, who seamlessly weave their personal passions with history, biography, iconic performances and new analysis to tell the stories behind the stories of Shakespeare's famous works. The final season investigates “Much Ado About Nothing,” “The Merchant of Venice,” “Measure for Measure,” “Julius Caesar,” “The Winter's Tale” and “Richard III.”

Sanaa Lathan joins the first season of the new CBS All Access original series THE TWILIGHT ZONE and will star in the episode 'Rewind.' Lathan is the latest addition to THE TWILIGHT ZONE cast alongside previously announced host and narrator Jordan Peele.

BBC One and Mammoth Screen today announced that Academy Award-winner Helen Hunt (As Good As It Gets, Mad About You) leads the cast alongside Academy Award-nominated and Olivier Award-winning actress Lesley Manville (Mum, Phantom Thread) together with rising British stars Jonah Hauer-King (Little Women, Howard's End) and Julia Brown (The Last Kingdom, Shetland) in the epic drama World On Fire by multi-award winning writer Peter Bowker (The A Word, Eric and Ernie, Occupation, Blackpool).

Actress, writer, producer and activist Erika Alexander (Living Single) has been cast in a recurring role in the upcoming second season of The CW/WBTV hit drama Black Lightning.

The Actors' Gang announced today that the stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, will kick off The Actors' Gang 2018/19 Season from Saturday, October 6th to Saturday, November 10th, 2018. The press opening is Saturday, October 13.

Broad Fest returns on Sunday, September 2, 2018. This free outdoor event features music and dance, activities for kids and adults, plus snacks, sweets and food available for purchase. Members and subscribers, local families, college students and arts enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy an array of musical performances, DJ music and dance floor, drumming, movies and more.

The Actors' Gang will begin performances for the 2018 Free Shakespeare in the Park for Families production of Much Ado About Avengers beginning Saturday, August 4th, continuing a 12-year tradition of free theater in Media Park. Based on William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" and inspired by the characters of Marvel's The Avengers, this 45 minute, all?ages production will run every Saturday and Sunday of August at 11am, through August 26th.

PBS today announced its fall 2018 schedule lineup, anchored by THE GREAT AMERICAN READ (Tuesdays, September 11- October 23). Exploring the power, passion and joy of reading, the series is hosted by Meredith Vieira and features reflections from everyday Americans as well as notables. Margaret Atwood, Lauren Graham, John Irving, Bill T. Jones, Devon Kennard, Gayle King, Diane Lane, George R.R. Martin and many more reflect on their favorite books. The series will culminate with the results of the first-ever national vote for “America's Best-Loved Novel.”

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and LD Entertainment present THE MIRACLE SEASON,arriving on DVD and Digital July 31. Helen Hunt and William Hurt star in this triumphant film based on the inspiring true story of the Iowa City West High School girls' volleyball team. After the tragic death of their star player, Caroline “Line” Found (Danika Yarosh), the team must band together under the guidance of their tough-love coach (Hunt) and Caroline's iron-willed father (Hurt) in hopes of winning the state championship.
