Broadway’s Tony & Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away resumed performances last night at Broadway’s Schoenfeld Theatre. Original Cast Member Joel Hatch, who plays Mayor Claude Elliott in the musical based on a remarkable true story, made a brief curtain speech at the end of the show thanking the audiences for supporting Broadway.

Everything about Come From Away was stunning. From the music to the stage design, transition between scenes or characters and the heartwarming story, this show was beyond incredible. There was so much to love and I truly adored everything about this musical from the moment it began to the very end. I cried, laughed and realized how that terrible day in American history affected so many other people and how their stories are often forgotten. It's a show that's easy to fall in love with and should be seen by everyone because the emotions are raw, the talent is immense and it's a story that deserves to be told and change our lives as it did for those individuals twenty years ago.

The most successful Canadian musical of all time has permanently closed in its hometown. After playing for 855 performances, the Toronto production of Come From Away ended its run on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.

Last night's performance of Come From Away featured standbys in eight of the roles, as confirmed by producer David Hein on Facebook.

The cast from the Tony and Olivier Award-winning hit Broadway musical “Come From Away” will perform on NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” special prior to the lighting of the iconic Christmas tree. The special will also include performances from the Pentatonix, Harry Connick Jr., Carrie Underwood, and the Radio City Rockettes.

Audience members at the November 20 matinee of Come From Away received a special surprise when they arrived for what they thought was just a normal performance. Legendary Broadway playwright Terrence McNally passed away last year from complications due to coronavirus, and next month Broadway will finally get the chance to gather in person to memorialize his incredible life. The event will be held at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 W 45th St) today, November 1 (4-6pm).

Historical themes have always been incorporated into stage shows, from classic Broadway musicals to contemporary productions. Contrary to what some may believe, not all historical-themed productions are old Broadway musicals. Several historical musicals have gone on to become classics, though this is not specifically a golden age musicals list.
