New York City Opera will present Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht's thrilling double bill, The Seven Deadly Sins & Mahagonny Songspiel, for the first time ever told as one story, a tragic fable for today.

 Museum of the Moving Image has announced See It Big: Sondheim, a ten-film series devoted to the celebrated composer, lyricist, author, artist, and all-around innovator Stephen Sondheim. When Sondheim died last November, he didn’t just leave behind an extraordinary corpus of work—he had exited a world that his art had forever changed.

Announced today is Millennials Are Killing Musicals, a new musical written by NAMT and Drama League Award-winner Nico Juber, which will receive an industry reading on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00am and 2:00pm at Open Jar Studios, and will be presented in a public concert on Monday, April 4th at 9:30pm at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

Emerging Artists Theatre will kick off its 29th season by showcasing over fifty performances (in various stages of development) at its bi-annual New Work Series.

On February 21, Klea Blackhurst turned her long association with Broadway’s Jerry Herman into a brand new show, ONE OF THE GIRLS at Birdland in NYC.

The life and career of Broadway veteran Mary Ellen Ashley was recently highlighted in a short documentary film, Just a Broadway Baby: Mary Ellen Ashley.
