This high-spirited golden age musical comedy wowed Wichita audiences

THE WIZARD OF OZ in the Smith Grand Theater at The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater is a darlingly delectable morsel of a production that whisks the audience away to the merry old land of Oz.

There’s something here for everyone here - pure entertainment for folks who just want to be entertained, and, for the seasoned musical theatre nerd, infinite musical theatre references, from obvious to obscure, that make the show even that much more fun. Tony Award winners Sutton Foster (“Anything Goes,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie”) and Kelli O’Hara (“The King and I”) – each acclaimed as a Broadway performer and song-and-dance artist of the first order – are also known for solo concert appearances.

What did our critic think of 9 TO 5 at Music Theatre Of Wichita At Century II Concert Hall?9 to 5 is one of my favorite shows - it’s entertaining, it’s full of comedic moments, and it has some great lessons in self love, trusting your instincts, and believing in yourself. It shows us not only how far we have come in terms of respecting women’s rights, but also shows us how much more needs to be done in terms of equal rights for not only women, but for all minority groups.
