Birdland will kick-off their exciting month of programming with the following acts:

(mostly)musicals kicked off their 4th season in style with songsforaHAPPYnewyear at the E Spot Lounge on Monday, January 16. This was the company's 21st entry in a series of themed cabarets, and set a new attendance record. George Street Playhouse has announced that the new musical comedy Curvy Widow, starring Broadway's Nancy Opel (GSP's The Toxic Avenger, Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas), will be the fifth and final show of the New Brunswick theatre's 2016-17 season.  The show runs May 2-21, 2017, with opening night scheduled for May 5, 2017.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 32 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2017 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 18 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) announces the 2016 winners of the Dottie Burman and John Wallowitch Awards. This year's celebrity judge was Broadway and Cabaret star KAREN MASON.

Krysta Rodriguez (B'way: THE ADDAMS FAMILY, SPRING AWAKENING; NBC's "SMASH"), recently seen in A CHORUS LINE at the Hollywood Bowl, joins the cast; along with West End star Jon Jon Briones, who will reprise his Olivier nominated performance as the Engineer in MISS SAIGON on Broadway next spring.

Adirondack Theatre Festival's (ATF) 22nd summer season continues with its CABARET SERIES featuring CARNER & GREGOR (ISLAND SONG). Performances will be held at the Charles R. Wood Theater (207 Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls), in the recently renovated Cabaret space on July 31st and August 1st at 7:30pm. Songwriters Sam Carner and Derek Gregor return to 54 Below on June 2nd for a 9:30 concert of their songs from various upcoming projects.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present two of musical theater's most exciting young composers LANCE HORNE and DREW BRODY in a special evening on Wednesday, May 11 at 9:30 PM with special guest Beth Malone, the Tony Award-nominated star of Broadway's Fun Home.

It's comedy and music (together at last) at the Los Angeles venue, Bar Lubitsch, on Monday, May 2nd as award-winning comedy songwriter Mike Hadge hosts a concert of his work,  HOW ARE THESE SONGS (AND WHY?): THE MUSIC (?) OF MIKE HADGE.

The 7th Annual Indie Series Awards (ISA7) will celebrate the best in independently produced scripted entertainment created for the Web tonight, April 6, 2016. Nominations were previously announced in 30 categories. Scroll down for the full list!

At a ceremony held last night in New York, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs announced the winners of the 2016 MAC Awards. A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Amanda McBroom.  Also honored with a Board of Directors award was Maryann Lopinto.  Jamie deRoy received the Ruth Kurtzman Benefit Award on behalf of her work with The Actors Fund: Jamie deRoy & Friends Cabaret Initiative.  Sally Darling received the Hanson Award. The show was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, with musical direction by Matt Baker.
