Casting and Writers Announced for A LITTLE NEW MUSIC at Catalina Jazz Club

A LITTLE NEW MUSIC returns to the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Monday, November 14th at 8:30pm for its latest showcase of emerging musical theater writers, featuring performers from Broadway and beyond. Krysta Rodriguez (B'way: THE ADDAMS FAMILY, SPRING AWAKENING; NBC's "SMASH"), recently seen in A CHORUS LINE at the Hollywood Bowl, joins the cast; along with West End star Jon Jon Briones, who will reprise his Olivier nominated performance as the Engineer in MISS SAIGON on Broadway next spring.

The cast will also include: Megan Briones (SWING DAMES), Conor Guzman (THE FANTASTICKS at Pasadena Playhouse), Marie-France Arcilla (Drama Desk winner: WORKING, RAIN at The Old Globe), Jenelle Randall (B'way: ALL SHOOK UP, CARRIE at La Mirada), Travis Leland (upcoming MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG at the Wallis), Randy Guiaya (CTG's THE CHRISTIANS), Caitlin Ary (FOR THE RECORD BAZ: STAR CROSSED LOVE), Iara Nemirovsky, Lily Soloway, and more!

Featured writers include: Drew Fornarola (CLAUDIO QUEST, TIANANMEN), Rona Siddiqui (ONE GOOD DAY), Michael R. Jackson (A STRANGE LOOP), Dembrowski & Lluberes (THE BOY IN THE BATHROOM), Zoe Sarnak (A LASTING IMPRESSION), Zach Spound (LEAP), Abramovitz & Alexander (BREAD AND ROSES ), Nelson & Trefler (MEN WITH MONEY), Oliver Houser (HELD MOMENTARILY), Selda Sahin & Derek Gregor ("Grind"), and more.

A LITTLE NEW MUSIC's 13th edition will also include previously announced performances from guest writers Matt Gould (INVISIBLE THREAD), who will share a sneak peek of his new musical LEMPICKA and LA's own Zach Spound, who returns to ALNM with a world premiere song from his musical LEAP. Musical improvisation company Robot Teammate & The Accidental Party (winners of ALNM's 2016 Hollywood Fringe Award for Outstanding Songwriting) will share a song from last summer's THUG TUNNEL and improvise a second number on the spot!

Comedian, actress, and writer Chris Farah ("Superstore," "Modern Family," "Chelsea Lately," solo show/cult character FANCY!) returns to host the evening alongside 2-time

Ovation Award-winning musical director and writer Gregory Nabours (THE TROUBLE WITH WORDS, Kennedy Center's "ASCAP: Broadway: Today and Tomorrow") and the ALNM band.

About the conce rt series : Since 2013, A LITTLE NEW MUSIC has introduced over 150 songs to its LA audience featuring original works of composers and lyricists from around the globe. W hether a premiere from an established writer or an undiscovered tune from
a promising up-and-comer, its mission is to showcase talent with a program that keeps your finger on the pulse of the musical theatre scene.

Tickets for A LITTLE NEW MUSIC are $25 (premiere), $20 (main), $15 (bar/high top/partial view) . Dinner or two drinks minimum are required in addition to ticket price and $0.45 music royalty fee per patron. All ticket sales are final.
