Building on its long history of presenting adventurous music from across the genre spectrum, Caramoor’s 2022 summer season celebrates music’s power to unite people, heal divisions, and inspire discovery.

The winners of the 50th George London Foundation Competition for young American and Canadian opera singers were announced at the conclusion of the competition’s final round this evening, which took place at Gilder Lehrman Hall at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York City. While the event is usually held with in-person audience, this year’s audience was virtual. Susanna Phillips, international opera star and 2005 George London Award winner, was the livestream host.

The 92nd Street Y, one of New York’s leading cultural venues, begins a new alliance with the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music with a live in-person concert and a master class. This first-of-its kind collaboration, entitled Curtis at 92Y, will give Curtis its first-ever “home” in New York City - and give the 92Y community an opportunity to learn from Curtis faculty and alumni and enjoy the work of one of the most important conservatories in the world.

While the final round is usually a public event, this year it will be held without an audience but livestreamed free of charge on the foundation's website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel, as well as the Facebook page of The Morgan Library and Museum.

The Hopkins Center for the Arts (the Hop) today announced an updated lineup of winter and spring arts experiences, from music concerts by Brentano String Quartet, Anaïs Mitchell and Amir ElSaffar; an immersive audio-visual installation by Ash Fure and Adam Fure and theatrical works by SITI Company, Roger Guenveur Smith and george emilio sanchez.

The recording is of Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's October 2, 2021 season opening concert, A Grand Opening, which featured the world premiere of Eric Nathan's Opening.

The 92nd Street Y has announced its spring classical concert season. With 18 concerts, the spring season includes two appearances by world-renowned pianist Angela Hewitt; two performances by The Knights as 92Y's inaugural Ensemble in Residence and more.
