The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas   Capezio Dance Foundation presents: Capezio celebrates 130 years of excellence in a one-night only special Awards and show on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 7:30 pm at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Avenue, Las Vegas NV 89106.  A glorious production will highlight some of the magical history of Capezio with numerous dance legends and stars of stage and screen saluting this milestone.  The show is produced and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo. The show benefts The Actors Fund and Future Dance (a program sponsored by Nevada Ballet Theatre). This is the first time that the Capezio Dance Awards are being presented to receipients of various dance genres.

On Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 8pm, The Grand 1894 Opera House presents the eagerly anticipated return of Parsons Dance.

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet presents four world premieres in the eighth annual Winning Works program, the culmination of Joffrey's national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications for the Joffrey Academy's Eighth Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition. This year's Competition winners-Telmo Moreira, Omar Roman De Jesus, Claudia Schreier and Luis Vazquez-each have choreographed an original work created on the Joffrey Academy Trainees and Studio Company. Winning Works returns to the MCA's Edlis Neeson Theater (220 E. Chicago Avenue) for three performances, Saturday, March 3 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 PM. Parsons Dance, an internationally celebrated dance troupe that creates and performs contemporary American dance of extraordinary artistry, takes the stage on Friday, March 9, at 8 p.m., at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents The Washington Ballet: Julie Kent and Gemma Bond on Sunday and Monday, February 25 and 26, 2018 at 7:30pm.

Known for energized, athletic, and visually stunning ensemble work, Parsons Dance creates and performs contemporary American dance of extraordinary artistry. With work that has proven to be accessible and enriching to diverse audiences around the world, the company has collaborated with iconic artists across all disciplines, including Billy Taylor, Milton Nascimento, Allen Toussaint, William Ivey Long, Donna Karan, Annie Leibovitz, Rita Blitt and Alex Katz. Parsons Dance was founded by artistic director David Parsons and Tony Award-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley. In the July 27, 2007 issue of The New York Times, Jennifer Dunning called David Parsons "one of the great movers of modern dance." 

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc., announced today that Aaron Mattocks will take over as Director of Programming, effective February 1, 2018. Mattocks replaces Martin Wechsler, who stepped down at the end of 2017 after 32 years at The Joyce, 22 of those as Director of Programming, helping to transform the organization into the world's leading presenter of dance.

ast night, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's holiday season at New York City Center kicked off with a star-studded Opening Night Gala Benefit performance and party that honored Ailey Board President Debra L. Lee (Chairman and Chief Executive Office of BET Networks) for her support of the Ailey organization since 2002. Music and film stars Queen Latifah andJanelle Mon e served as honorary chairs for the evening, and the gala co-chairs were Deedra & Bob Bakish, Emily & Len Blavatnik, Paulette & Howard Bradnock, Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach, and Joan & Sandy Weill. Over $2.4 million was raised in support of the creation of new works, scholarships to The Ailey School, and Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people.

On November 12, 2017, the Auditorium Theatre, The Theatre for the People, commemorates the 50th anniversary of its grand re-opening with A Golden Celebration of Dance, a one-night-only mixed repertory program featuring dancers from the world's premier dance companies: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Dutch National Ballet, Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, MOMIX, New York City Ballet, Parsons Dance, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, and The Washington Ballet. In addition, the evening will feature special performances by finalists from the Youth America Grand Prix, the next generation of great dancers.

Dance Currents Inc. is presenting a concert of nine Modern dances by famous choreographers as well as a panel following the performance discussing how Modern dance does or does not withstand the test of time.
