The University of Hartford's Hartt School Dance Division presents "Reflected Light", the Spring Senior Dance and Music Collaboration, Friday, March 4th at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Theater, at the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford.

In addition to being big Broadway hits, those musicals have something else in common: their costume designer, the brilliant William Ivey Long. On Tuesday, March 1, Long will speak with Sheryl Flatow about the craft of costume design and discuss his illustrious career as part of Palm Beach Dramaworks' popular series,Dramalogue - Talking Theatre! William Ivey Long: Creating Character Through Costumes will be presented twice, at 2pm and 7pm, at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

Parsons Dance, under the artistic direction of David Parsons, will present a season of premieres and favorites at The Joyce Theater from January 20 – January 31. Parsons Dance will perform a New York City premiere by choreographer David Parsons, along with a world premiere from former Parsons dancer and rising choreographer Katarzyna Skarpetowska. Last night, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's holiday season at New York City Center kicked off with an Opening Night Gala Benefit. The one-night-only benefit performance and party honored BNY Mellon for its major support of the Ailey Organization since 2007, and Agnes & Gerald Hassell accepted on the institution's behalf.  Film star Chadwick Boseman and actress and Grammy-Award winning artist Brandy served as Honorary Chairs, and the event's co-chairs were Simin Allison, Kathryn & Kenneth Chenault, Debra L. Lee, Doris & Gilbert Meister, Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach and Joan & Sandy Weill. $2.5 million was raised in support of the creation of new works, scholarships to The Ailey School, and Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people.

San Francisco, CA, August 4, 2015 – Artistic Director and choreographer Charles Anderson's award-winning Company C Contemporary Ballet will present the world premiere of his new, evening-length story ballet, Arcane: A Tale of All Hallows' Eve in seven performances October 24-31 at the Cowell Theater in San Francisco. The production features an original story and choreography by Anderson, a commissioned musical score by Mike Krisukas of Zen for Primates, steam punk-inspired set and lighting designs by Patrick Toebe and the costumes by Laura Hazlet and will be performed by a company of 16 dancers, 9 musicians and narrator. Performances will be given Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm; Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 1:00 pm; Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 7:00 pm; Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 am; Friday, October 30, 2015 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:00 pm and Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 7:00 pm. There will be receptions for the audience and artists after the opening night and closing night performances with no-host bar. MOMIX to Present New York Premiere of Moses Pendleton's ALCHEMIA at The Joyce Theater

In celebration of MOMIX's 35th Anniversary Season, the company returns to The Joyce Theater for four weeks with the New York premiere of Alchemia, the latest full-length creation for MOMIX by founder and Artistic Director Moses Pendleton. Gotham Chamber Opera Names New Executive Director

Gotham Chamber Opera announces Edward Barnes as the company's new Executive Director, effective June 1, 2015. Mr. Barnes will succeed Gotham's previous executive director, David Bennett, who will become general director of the San Diego Opera. In addition, David Rubeo has been promoted to Associate Director.

New Victory Sets 2015 Victory Dance Series

This July, The New Victory will present its second season of Victory Dance, the theater's initiative to provide FREE dance performances to kids in New York City day camps, school and youth programs over the summer. A three-week series from July 8 - 24, 2015, Victory Dance features a cross-section of highly-accomplished and internationally recognized New York companies who perform a range of contemporary dance styles and share in the theater's goal of inspiring young people to embrace the art form.

Gotham Chamber Opera Sets 15th Anniversary Season

Gotham Chamber Opera announces its 15th Anniversary Season, which will begin in the fall of 2015 with a 15th Anniversary Celebration Concert (date and venue tba). The season continues in February 2016 with Alessandro Stradella's 1675 San Giovanni Battista (Saint John the Baptist)in a co-production with the Netherlands Nationale ReisOpera, and a concert at (le) poisson rouge, 158 Bleecker Street, NYC, featuring a new work by David Hertzberg, winner of the Catherine Doctorow Prize for Music. The season concludes with the New York premiere of Charlie Parker's Yardbird, a co-production of the Apollo Theater, Gotham Chamber Opera and Opera Philadelphia, at the world famous Apollo Theater in May/June 2016.
