The University of Hartford's Hartt School Dance Division presents "Reflected Light", the Spring Senior Dance and Music Collaboration, Friday, March 4th at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Theater, at the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford.

In addition to being big Broadway hits, those musicals have something else in common: their costume designer, the brilliant William Ivey Long. On Tuesday, March 1, Long will speak with Sheryl Flatow about the craft of costume design and discuss his illustrious career as part of Palm Beach Dramaworks' popular series,Dramalogue - Talking Theatre! William Ivey Long: Creating Character Through Costumes will be presented twice, at 2pm and 7pm, at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. 

Parsons Dance is now at The Joyce Theater through January 31st. This extraordinary contemporary company is presenting two programs to be enjoyed by dance enthusiasts.

Parsons Dance, under the artistic direction of David Parsons, will present a season of premieres and favorites at The Joyce Theater from January 20 – January 31. Parsons Dance will perform a New York City premiere by choreographer David Parsons, along with a world premiere from former Parsons dancer and rising choreographer Katarzyna Skarpetowska. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's New York City Center engagement is one of the Company's 'most exciting seasons yet' (Metro), and the thrill continues as the holidays approach. The Company's inspiring Christmas Eve performance will begin at 7:30pm and features Ronald K. Brown's spellbinding Grace, Robert Battle's stunning world premiere Awakening, and Alvin Ailey's must-see masterpiece Revelations - 'the gift that somehow keeps on giving' (The New York Times).

Last night, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's holiday season at New York City Center kicked off with an Opening Night Gala Benefit. The one-night-only benefit performance and party honored BNY Mellon for its major support of the Ailey Organization since 2007, and Agnes & Gerald Hassell accepted on the institution's behalf.  Film star Chadwick Boseman and actress and Grammy-Award winning artist Brandy served as Honorary Chairs, and the event's co-chairs were Simin Allison, Kathryn & Kenneth Chenault, Debra L. Lee, Doris & Gilbert Meister, Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach and Joan & Sandy Weill. $2.5 million was raised in support of the creation of new works, scholarships to The Ailey School, and Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people.

Artistic Director and choreographer Charles Anderson's award-winning Company C Contemporary Ballet will present the world premiere of his new, evening-length story ballet, Arcane: A Tale of All Hallows' Eve in seven performances tonight, October 24, through October 31 at the Cowell Theater in San Francisco.

Close Up Experience and The Goodnight Darlings (Kat Auster and Wilson Jaramillo) announce their new Short Musical Film, EMPIRE VAMPIRE. The innovative new Fantasy-Thriller Musical short film is blazing a trail, paving the way for a new genre that tells a story within a song, on screen, seamlessly intermingled with a vibrant array of performance and fine art.

The Kentucky Center is offering a wide variety of entertainment this fall, as it enters its 32nd arts season. San Francisco, CA, August 4, 2015 – Artistic Director and choreographer Charles Anderson's award-winning Company C Contemporary Ballet will present the world premiere of his new, evening-length story ballet, Arcane: A Tale of All Hallows' Eve in seven performances October 24-31 at the Cowell Theater in San Francisco. The production features an original story and choreography by Anderson, a commissioned musical score by Mike Krisukas of Zen for Primates, steam punk-inspired set and lighting designs by Patrick Toebe and the costumes by Laura Hazlet and will be performed by a company of 16 dancers, 9 musicians and narrator. In celebration of MOMIX's 35th Anniversary Season, the company returns to The Joyce Theater for four weeks with the New York premiere of Alchemia, the latest full-length creation for MOMIX by founder and Artistic Director Moses Pendleton. MOMIX will be performing Alchemia at The Joyce Theater from July 6 through August 1. Gotham Chamber Opera announces Edward Barnes as the company's new Executive Director, effective June 1, 2015. Mr. Barnes will succeed Gotham's previous executive director, David Bennett, who will become general director of the San Diego Opera. In addition, David Rubeo has been promoted to Associate Director.

Through it's grant-making to thousands of nonprofits each year, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) promotes opportunities for people in communities across America to experience the arts and exercise their creativity.

This July, The New Victory will present its second season of Victory Dance, the theater's initiative to provide FREE dance performances to kids in New York City day camps, school and youth programs over the summer. A three-week series from July 8 - 24, 2015, Victory Dance features a cross-section of highly-accomplished and internationally recognized New York companies who perform a range of contemporary dance styles and share in the theater's goal of inspiring young people to embrace the art form.

Gotham Chamber Opera announces its 15th Anniversary Season, which will begin in the fall of 2015 with a 15th Anniversary Celebration Concert (date and venue tba). The season continues in February 2016 with Alessandro Stradella's 1675 San Giovanni Battista (Saint John the Baptist)in a co-production with the Netherlands Nationale ReisOpera, and a concert at (le) poisson rouge, 158 Bleecker Street, NYC, featuring a new work by David Hertzberg, winner of the Catherine Doctorow Prize for Music. The season concludes with the New York premiere of Charlie Parker's Yardbird, a co-production of the Apollo Theater, Gotham Chamber Opera and Opera Philadelphia, at the world famous Apollo Theater in May/June 2016.
