Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, announced today the return of in-person programming at the New York City dance organization’s home with its Fall 2021/Winter 2022 season.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center is welcoming live, in-person dance back to its stage throughout 2021 beginning with a new production by the Latin and ballroom champions Maksim and Valentin Chmerkovskiy (ABC’s Dancing with the Stars). 

Ballet Hispánico is partnering with DOROT, a New York City-based nonprofit organization creating social connections for older adults, to present a virtual performance and artistic talkback with Rodney Hamilton, Michelle Manzanales, and Melissa Verdecia on Thursday, May 13, 2021 and two virtual movement workshops on Thursdays May 20 and 27, 2021.

Ballet Hispánico is continuing its Community Arts Partnerships with a free virtual Latin Social Dance Class in partnership with Penn State, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 7:30pm ET. Held over Zoom, the class will be an extension of the Ballet Hispánico 50th Legacy Experience.

Parsons Dance and Friends and Family of Howell Binkley have announced that Howell Binkley: A Celebration of Light and Love, a video tribute in memory of lighting designer Howell Binkley created by Suspension Productions, will be available for viewing beginning Sunday, October 25 at 8:00 PM ET.

Mirvish Productions mourns the death of Howell Binkley, one of the premier lighting designers in the world. He died August 14, 2020 in North Carolina, his wife, Joyce, told the Winston-Salem Journal. He was 64 and had lung cancer. In honour of Howell Binkley, the lights of the Royal Alexandra and Princess of Wales Theatre will be dimmed on 8/18.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents a Virtual Works & Process: In Process with Ephrat Asherie Dance on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at 7:30pm. Many of New York City and the country's most renowned dancers and dance companies including American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and Zoey Anderson from Parsons Dance performed on Monday, January 27 at 7:30pm at The Joyce Theater (175 8th Avenue) at the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation's (Founder/Executive Director Joe Lanteri) DESTINY RISING, an evening of dance artistry to benefit the NYCDA Foundation College Scholarship Program which to date has awarded over $3 million in college scholarships to over 300 dancers all over the country (in 2019, NYCDAF awarded a total of $470,000 in scholarships). There was $88k in scholarships awarded on 1/27 to nine dancers: $6,000 each to Megan Nee (FL), Kaitlyn Bien (IL) and Tyler Burden (NY); $8,000 each to Sophia Borgarello (TX), Carly Bocchino (FL) and Anna Bermudez (FL); $14,000 each to Kelis Robinson (Canada and Joey Gertin (Canada); and $18,000 to Sydney Revennaugh (FL).
