Following four sold-out performances of Joshua L. Peugh's Aladdin, Habibi in the Elevator Project at AT&T Performing Arts Center in October, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance (which is being featured as WaterTower Theatre's Guest Company in Residence) moves to Addison Theatre Centre-the company's new home theatre for 2019-for a Winter Series featuring three world premieres centering on gay identity in America. The new works will explore gay narratives, themes, and ideas and will be performed by a mostly queer company of dancers. Dark Circles has commissioned budding gay choreographers Mark Caserta, Eoghan Dillon, and Mikey Morado for the program. A new creation by Peugh-in collaboration with queer multimedia artist Brian Kenny-closes the evening. Performances will run January 24 - 27, 2019 at Addison Theatre Centre.

State Theatre New Jersey presents Parsons Dance on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 8pm. The program includes Wolfgang by David Parsons, The Duet from Finding Center by David Parsons, Ma Maison by Trey McIntyre, Microburst by David Parsons, Caught by David Parsons, and Whirlaway by David Parsons. Tickets range from $19-49.

Michael Trusnovec, 20-year veteran with the Paul Taylor Dance Company (PTDC) will retire from dancing with the Company in June 2019. His final performances will be during Orchestra of St. Luke's Bach Festival. Mr. Trusnovec will continue to serve as Associate Rehearsal Director through June.

The Paul Taylor Dance Foundation announced the death yesterday of legendary choreographer Paul Taylor in Manhattan on August 29.

To open the 45th season of its Dance Presenting Series, the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago presents the Chicago debut of Ephrat Asherie Dance (EAD), a company rooted in street and social dance. Performances take place October 11-13 at the Dance Center, 1306 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago.

Berkshire native and dancer Gina Bashour, praised by the New York Times as a 'powerhouse,' returns home to the Berkshires this summer as choreographer to premiere a site-specific dance performance entitled Unraveled, presented by TurnPark Art Space in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. With a strong ensemble of performers, the work weaves together themes and imagery from the fable of Rumpelstiltskin with a current look at the relationships of men and women and the community around them. The performance, suitable for all ages, is being presented on August 25 and 26, 2018, at noon and 3:00 p.m. and is included with admission to TurnPark ($15/adult; $12 for students and seniors; free for TurnPark members and children under 12).

Parsons Dance - under the Artistic Direction of David Parsons -presented their yearly gala, honoring legendary Broadway composer and multiple award-winner Stephen Schwartz, featuring two pieces specially created for the evening.

A dancer's dancer, when asked about how the work is connected to her greater body of choreography, she said her “focus is on what comes naturally; I never want the dancers to stop themselves.”

In just two weeks, Capezio Dance Foundation presents: Capezio celebrates 130 years of excellence in a one-night only special Awards and show on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 7:30 pm at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Avenue, Las Vegas NV 89106. A glorious production will highlight some of the magical history of Capezio with numerous dance legends and stars of stage and screen saluting this milestone. Savion Glover the Tony Award winner dancer, choreographer and actor joins this special event. The show is produced and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo. A Q&A session with cast, directors and crew will take place following the film.

Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie, Artistic Director of Ephrat Asherie Dance, is awarded the inaugural Jacob's Pillow Fellowship at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post. The fellowship includes a $15,000 grant, a one-week residency at Jacob's Pillow's new Pillow Lab, and a residency at LIU Tilles Center. Executive Vice Chairman Roger Tilles was integral in making this new partnership between Jacob's Pillow and Long Island University possible.
