Drawing inspiration from the Nigerian and Mesoamerican cultures that influenced the storyline of the film, Göransson recorded the film’s score (and soundtrack, which he also produced) in six studios, across three continents and five countries, working with over 250 musicians, two orchestras, two choirs and over 40 vocalists.

The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Music From and Inspired By soundtrack features over 40 international artists recorded in Lagos, Nigeria, Mexico City, London and Los Angeles. Primary Stages has announced additional performers for their 38th Anniversary Gala, honoring long-time collaborators Charles Busch and Carl Andress (The Confession of Lily Dare; The Tribute Artist) with the 2022 Einhorn Mentorship Award. The event will take place on Tuesday November 15, 2022, at 6pm at Sony Hall 

The Public Theater will begin performances for the New York premiere of WHERE WE BELONG, written and performed by Madeline Sayet and directed by Mei Ann Teo, with a Joseph Papp Free Performance on Friday, October 28.

Acclaimed Black Filipinx playwright and Kilroys List honoree Roger Q. Mason will receive a developmental reading of their new play THE PINK with Primary Stages as part of their Creative Access Grant Reading Series. The reading will take place on Friday, November 4 at 3pm at 59E59 Theaters.

The season features the premiere of Great Performances: Intimate Apparel, which is available to stream now, and the premiere of Great Performances: Richard III from The Public Theater’s Free Shakespeare in the Park; Josh Groban’s Great Big Radio City Show with Cyndi Lauper, Deneé Benton, and Tiler Peck; and more.

PRIMARY STAGES and 59E59 Theaters, in association with Jamie deRoy, has announced casting for peerless, by 2019/20 Tow Playwright-in-Residence Jiehae Park (Hannah and the Dread Gazebo) and directed by Margot Bordelon (... what the end will be). 

The cast, comprised of a group of ambitious, action-oriented, and diverse Gen Z New Yorkers whose careers are on the rise, includes: Taofeek Abijako, Fernando Casablancas, Ben Hard, Claude Shwartz, Ebon Gore, and Sophia Wilson. MILE SQUARE THEATRE (MST) has announced their first production of Kevin R. Free’s first season as Artistic Director, of Angelica Chéri’s BERTA, BERTA, directed by Kevin R. Free. BERTA, BERTA will play a four-week limited engagement at Mile Square Theatre.

Listen to the EP, which includes the powerful cover of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “No Woman No Cry” performed by Nigerian artist Tems. The Public Theater celebrated opening night of Free Shakespeare in the Park production of RICHARD III at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
