The new musical The Principle Wife will have its world premiere at the Covey Center for the Arts from July 7-31, 2023. With book and lyrics by Taylor Vaughn and Mark Greenhalgh, and music written by award-winning composer Jonathan Keith, this show shines a spotlight on a sensitive subject in a sincere, yet humorous way.

David Bennett is now six years into his job as general director of the San Diego Opera Association. When hired, he faced shaky finances, a loss of major donors, and huge turnover in the membership of the board of directors. The new board hired him with the understanding that downsizing and reinvention of the organization were his priorities. Then, after getting off to a surprisingly good start, Bennett had the forced restrictions of COVID-19 to contend with. Perhaps a biblical plague of locusts is next?

Hale Centre Theatre will keep family traditions alive this December by screening “A Christmas Carol” at all Utah Megaplex Theatres starting Dec. 11 and nationwide on Broadway on Demand. Seating capacity at the Sandy theatre is restricted to 25% by the local health department due to the coronavirus, and the production is practically sold out.

Hale Centre Theatre (HCT) will present the U.S. premiere of Strictly Ballroom, the stage adaptation of Baz Luhrman's cult classic film, Feb.5 through April 11.

Written by Nathan and Ruth Hale, the iconic founders of Hale Centre Theatre, the comedic play gives audiences an interactive experience with the main character, a brilliant, but unorganized inventor who is unceremoniously reunited with his estranged 5-year-old daughter for a three-week visit. Tickets to the hysterical production, that is the last play to appear in the West Valley Theatre, are on sale now.
