? At an exclusive event last night for subscribers, donors and members of the press, Tony Award-winning Trinity Repertory Company, under the leadership of Richard L. Bready Artistic Director Curt Columbus announced their 2016-2017 season: Ghosts of the Past, Dreams of the Future.

?At the 20th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Repertory Company will honor local artists Len Cabral and Charlene Carpenzano with Rhode Island Pell Awards for Excellence in the Arts alongside previously announced honorees The Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, Laurie Eustis and Elizabeth Chace. The awards ceremony and celebration will be held at Ochre Court on the Salve Regina University Campus in Newport, RI on May 23, 2016. Epic Theatre Company is bringing back this one-of-a-kind theatrical experience featuring Curt Columbus, Artistic Director of Trinity Repertory Company on Saturday, March 19th.

At the 20th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Repertory Company will award Oskar Eustis and Laurie Eustis with the Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. Oskar currently serves as the artistic director of The Public Theater. Elizabeth Z. Chace, local businesswoman and philanthropist will be honored with the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. Nominations are now being accepted for additional local honorees. The 2015 CHRISTMAS CAROL, directed by Curt Columbus, is a solid production and quite enjoyable, though small elements keep it from being a fully immersive theatrical experience. While well done overall, the emotional punch of past Trinity CAROLS is lacking in this year's staging.

Trinity Repertory Company presents its annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Curt Columbus, and featuring resident acting company member Stephen Berenson as Ebenezer Scrooge. Performances run through December 31.

Trinity Repertory Company announces dates for the third annual sensory-friendly performance, as well as American Sign Language interpretation and Open Caption performances of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens and with original music by Richard Cumming. An Open Captioned performance will be offered on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00PM. The sensory-friendly adaptation of the show will be held Saturday, November 14 at 12:00PM, with American Sign Language interpretation available during the performance.

With deep sadness, Trinity Repertory Company has announced that their long-time company member of 47 years Barbara Meek passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015.

Following a national search, Trinity Repertory Company, the State Theater of Rhode Island, has named the highly accomplished Tom Parrish as Executive Director. Parrish takes over from Michael Gennaro who left in February to take a similar position at renowned Goodspeed Musicals. Parrish will begin his role full-time in Providence in late fall.

Trinity Rep closes out Season 51: The Necessity of Human Connection with the world premiere of Tony-nominated playwright Sarah Ruhl and composer Todd Almond's Melancholy Play: a chamber musical, directed by Obie Award-winner Liesl Tommy. Melancholy Play: a chamber musical runs May 28 through June 28, 2015 in Trinity Rep's Dowling Theater.

At the 19th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Rep will award Debra Messing with the Pell Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts. John Chan, jazz promoter and owner of Chan's Fine Oriental Dining in Woonsocket will be honored with a Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Dancer and choreographer Julie Strandberg will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts and Trinity Rep's former executive director, Michael Gennaro, will be awarded with the Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts. The ceremony will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at Trinity Rep with a reception to follow at the Providence Public Library.
