In a continued outpouring of solidarity among a giant consortium of the American theater's artistic directors, more than 30 additional artistic directors have signed the open letter that was issued yesterday in support of Ari Roth, following his recent dismissal from the Jewish Community Center in Washington, D.C., where he has served as Artistic Director of Theater J for the past 18 years.

Taking the entire novel and distilling it down to three characters to tell the story of Raskolnikov's inner struggle and search for peace, the playwrights have accomplished what the New York Times has called 'a feat that rivals the construction of the Hoover Dam.'

In tandem with SOAR (Sisters Overcoming Abusive Relationships), Trinity Rep has spearheaded a campaign to raise awareness about the partner organization and its services, while a used cell phone drive in Trinity Rep's lobby raises funds for Sojourner House, which provides comprehensive services to victims of abuse. Patrons are encouraged to bring used cell phones of any condition to donate when they attend the theater. The theater lobby will also be open for donations during regular business hours. Trinity Rep has announced a new partnership naming Southwest Airlines the Official Airline of Trinity Rep, and a supporter of the 2014 Young Actors Summer Institute. This is the first time the theater has partnered with an airline, which opens up many opportunities for the company. As Official Airline of Trinity Rep, Southwest Airlines will provide air travel for the theater's artists and staff to attend conferences, special projects and events.

Trinity Repertory Company invites the public to remember and celebrate the life of the lateMarion Simon, former executive assistant to Trinity Rep artistic director, Adrian Hall (and later Richard Jenkins), who passed away in December at the age of 90. The memorial celebration -featuring speakers and stories about Trinity Rep's longtime friend - will take place tonight, May 7, at 2PM in Trinity Repertory Company's Dowling Theater, 201 Washington St. in Providence.
