Claybourne Elder to Lead KC Rep's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE This Fall

Eric Rosen, Artistic Director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, today announced the casting for the lead roles for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer-Prize winning masterpiece, Sunday in the Park with George. Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Nominee Claybourne Elder (Bonnie & Clyde, Road Show, Allegro) will lead the cast as George, reprising his critically-acclaimed performance in Signature Theatre's award-winning 2014 production. Broadway veteran Sara Jean Ford (A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Finian's Rainbow) has been cast in the legendary role of Dot. Rosen will direct the production, to be produced in a unique partnership with the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art.

Following a sold-out run at Dixon Place, the limited 12- week engagement of the critically-acclaimed new play The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey officially opened last night, July 27, 2015, at theWestside Theatre (407 West 43 Street). THE ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS OF LEONARD PELKEY, the much talked-about new play written and performed by James Lecesne, will have scenic design by Jo Winiarski, lighting design by Matt Richards, sound design by Christian Frederickson, projection design by Aaron Rhyne, original animation & photography by Matthew Sandager, and costumes by Paul Marlow. Lisa Howard Rounds Out Cast of Tim Realbuto's WUNDERKIND at NYMF

Drama Desk Award winner and Drama League nominee Lisa Howard, who is currently earning rave reviews starring as Jenny Steinberg in Broadway's 'It Shoulda Been You', is the final special guest performer to join Tim Realbuto in his autobiographical piece 'Wunderkind' at The New York Musical Theatre Festival. Ms. Howard is also well known for her portrayal of Rona Lisa Peretti in the original Broadway cast of 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee'. Her numerous other Broadway credits include Lincoln Center's 'South Pacific'; '9 to 5'; and 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'. On television, she appeared on ABC's 'Ugly Betty', but is perhaps most known to film audiences as Siobahn in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.' Next up, she will star as Sylvia in director Joseph Wartnerchaney 's thriller 'Decay' for Ghost Orchid Films.

Tim Realbuto is bringing his critically acclaimed not-so-solo solo show 'Tim Realbuto: Wunderkind' to the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) for a special one night only concert event on Sunday, July 26th at 5:00 PM. Individual tickets cost $27.50 and the performance will take place at Theater 3, 311 W. 43rd Street, NYC.
