The Secret Theatre presents A Christmas Carol this month, directed and produced by Richard Mazda.

The winners have been announced for the 2022 BroadwayWorld Off-Broadway Awards, honoring the best in off-Broadway shows which had their first performance between October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.

The Secret Theatre's production of A Christmas Carol features a brand-new adaptation by their Artistic Director, Richard Mazda, who will also perform Scrooge. The cast includes Christopher Romero-Wilson * as Dickens/Fezziwig, Joe Staton as Fred, Mia Jacquez as Christmas Present, Rosie Dean as Mrs Cratchit, Evan Ayer as Bob Cratchit, also featuring Zoe Nadal, Reina Celis, Hudson Malendes, Penelope Pompouros, Clara Burke, Alex & Ruby Janger, William Cho, Baz Duarte, & Annika Low. A Christmas Carol will open at The Secret Theatre beginning December 15. The Secret Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol features a brand-new adaptation by their Artistic Director, Richard Mazda, who will also perform Scrooge.

Tammany Hall, the new, site-specific, immersive theater experience created and directed by Darren Lee Cole (Fleabag, Killer Joe) and Alexander Wright (The Great Gatsby, the UK’s longest running immersive show) will conclude its limited run at New York’s historic SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) January 9.

Tammany Hall is an immersive theatrical time machine that transports the audience to New York Election Night in 1929. The setting is Club Huron, the actual Tammany Hall clubhouse that is now SoHo Playhouse, where performers portraying real historical characters guide attendees through 15 rooms as scandal, corruption, and intrigue are revealed.

The Queen Esther's Dilemma, a musical by Samuel J. Bernstein, is inspired by the Biblical Book of Esther. This original musical play blends humor with anguish, tragedy with triumph, while exploring Jewish identity in all its complexities. This unique musical will open on March 1st at the Center for Jewish History, New York, for a total of 4 performances (March 1st, 4th, 13th and 18th).

The JEW OF MALTA by Marlowe, starring David Serero as Barabas, to be performed in New York for a one night only! On December 3rd at 8pm, the classic play the JEW OF MALTA by Christopher Marlowe will be performed in a stage-reading version, starring David Serero as Barabas. This one night only performance will feature Sephardic songs sung by actor and opera star David Serero at the Center for Jewish History (15 w 16th St. New York NY 10011).

The production will run 6 performances only, July 11 to July 15 at The Bridge @ Shetler Studios, 244 West 54th Street, 12th Floor.

Always Love Lucy Theatre, a New York theater company, has announced the premiere production of Tennessee Williams's Out Cry- with a twist: South Asian actors will perform it. Tamasha, a Festival for South Asian Performing Arts, hosts this limited run on September 28th and October 1st.

A Sephardic-themed production of William Shakespeare's OTHELLO will debut June 16 to 30 at the Center for Jewish History (15 W. 16 St.), it has been announced by The American Sephardi Federation, the presenting organization. Unique to the production will be traditional Jewish Moroccan songs performed by the cast.

The Off Broadway company, Always Love Lucy Theatre, has announced that it will present a bold new staging of George Bernard Shaw's PYGMALION, a classic tale of transformation, that will in this production spotlight the issue of Transgender identity - at a time when voices in support of trans rights are increasingly heard across the nation and the globe. The production will run 5 performances only, May 4 - May 8 at Theatre 54@ Shetler Studios, 244 West 54th Street, 12th Floor.

The company's producing artistic director Saima Huq will take on the role of Eliza/Elijah.

Award-winning playwright, Paul Buzinskis' new play, SELECTION DAY, is making its World Premiere at Theatre 54, now through October 3rd. This fast-paced comedy is directed by Schnele Wilson who recently directed the critically acclaimed production of Reading Between the Lies at The New York International Fringe Festival. Always Love Lucy Productions, a new theatre company in New York, has announced that it will stage a uniquely cast production of Arthur Miller's classic 1949 play DEATH OF A SALESMAN, June 19th through Sunday June 29th at the Roy Aria Studios' Stage IV Theatre at 300 West 43rd Street. The production features a cast of South Asians playing the Lomans and will officially open on Sunday, June 22nd at 8PM. Juan Reinoso directs.

On Monday, May 19th, Lone Star Theatre Co will present a staged reading of THE CAPITOL PLAYS, five plays inspired by Wendy Davis and the crazy day and night she spent defending women's rights in Austin, TX. The plays -- by Raquel Almazan, Mando Alvarado, David Davila and Lindsay Hicks -- depict different events (true or fictional) that could all take place at the Texas Capitol.
