On Monday, May 19th, Lone Star Theatre Co will present a staged reading of THE CAPITOL PLAYS, five plays inspired by Wendy Davis and the crazy day and night she spent defending women's rights in Austin, TX. The plays -- by Raquel Almazan, Mando Alvarado, David Davila and Lindsay Hicks -- depict different events (true or fictional) that could all take place at the Texas Capitol.

The cast features Claudia Acosta, Anissa Felix, Laura Gomez, Kristoffer Infante, Kristen Leger, and John Mazurek. The reading is produced by Benjamin B. Wright and directed by Christopher Romero-Wilson.

The reading is presented as part of Lone Star Theatre Co.'s TEXAS READS series which develops and prevents new works by Texas writers in New York City as part of their goal to present Texas pages to New York stages.

The free reading will take place at 7:00pm at the Davenport Theatre (formerly the 45th Street Theatre) at 354 West 45th St. For reservations visit the Lone Star Theatre Co. website.
