Brought about by the cancellation of the art center's seven-week summer series due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tippet Rise is launching a library of free music downloads in high resolution format and offering its audiences a monthly virtual concert series, Tippet Rise & Friends at Home, comprised of new video streams of past performances.

Tickets are $30 – $40 and are available online at ccityopera.org.

BWW Review: SAN DIEGO OPERA'S AMAZING NIGHT at At The Balboa Theatre

The San Diego Opera's first Detour Series performance this season was 'One Amazing Night' with Soprano Ailyn Pérez, tenor Joshua Guerrero and accompanist Abdiel Vázquez. All are outstanding young award winners with impressive resumes. The first half featured operatic arias, enjoyable and worth the ticket price on their own. But the second half was something different--and special. In it the artists performed classic popular Mexican songs they grew up with, and their passionate affection was obvious. Vázquez was born in Mexico. Pérez and Guerrero are American children of Mexican immigrants.
Adelphi PAC Will Present The Adelphi Symphony Orchestra

The Adelphi Symphony Orchestra will perform a program of selections from the classical and romantic periods at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Thursday, November 14. The program will be under the direction of visiting guest conductor Stefano Miceli. Maestro Miceli is one of the foremost Italian pianists and conductors performing today, and he has earned the applause of audiences from around the world.

San Francisco Opera Announces Casting Update For Gounod's ROMEO & JULIET

San Francisco Opera today announced a cast change for Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet (Roméo et Juliette), which opens the Company's 97th season on September 6, 2019 and runs for seven performances through October 1 at the War Memorial Opera House. Samoan-born New Zealand tenor Pene Pati, originally scheduled to sing Romeo on October 1, will perform the role in all performances, replacing Bryan Hymel who has withdrawn for personal reasons.
