The League of Professional Theatre Women (Shellen Lubin and Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been championing women in the professional theatre for over three decades, is producing an Oral History Project event with renowned Broadway publicist Irene Gandy on Monday, February 10 beginning at 6pm in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street). Admission to the event is FREE and seats are available on a first-come-first-seated basis. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are kicking off the new year with a star-studded January schedule! At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the Legendary Count Basie Orchestra, under the direction of Scotty Barhart and special guest vocalist Carmen Bradford; Karrin Allyson as she pays tribute to Mose Allison; and the Hot Sardines, among others!

The Drama League (Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Director Bevin Ross) announced today the acting company for the 36th annual DirectorFest, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. Broadway veteran Elizabeth Ward Land (AMAZING GRACE, MEMPHIS, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL) will return to The Green Room 42 with her acclaimed show STILL WITHIN THE SOUND OF MY VOICE: THE SONGS OF LINDA RONSTADT for three performances, January 16, 17, and 18, 2020 at 7pm.

He penned 80's anthems, she kissed Hugh Jackman, he co-wrote the musical, Pretty Woman, she sang with Brian May. He has written favorites such as 'Summer of '69,' 'Heaven,' and 'What About Love' and she is going to sing the heck out of them. Every song has a story. On Thursday, November 14th The League of Professional Theatre Women (Shellen Lubin and Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been championing women in the professional theatre for over three decades, presented an Oral History Project event with the legendary, five-time Tony Award-winning actress, Angela Lansbury at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street). Ms. Lansbury discussed her life and prolific career with Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director of Irish Repertory Theatre.
