Casting Announced For SUMMER SHORTS 2018

Casting is complete for SUMMER SHORTS 2018, produced by Throughline Artists (J.J. Kandel, Producing Artistic Director) at 59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director). SUMMER SHORTS 2018 begins on July 20 and runs through September 1. Two series featuring three one-act plays in each will play in rotating repertory Tuesday - Friday at 7:15 PM; Saturday & Sunday at 2:15 PM and 7:15 PM. Please note, there are no matinee performances on Saturday, July 21, Sunday, July 22, or Saturday, July 28.

A Class Act NY, the award-winning acting studio will produce a staged reading of award-winning Bobby Cronin's new musical PSYKIDZ on August 24, 2018. The reading will be directed by Broadway Actress Lauren Elder and produced by ACANY Artistic Director Jessica Rofe Grosman and Jonathan Grosman.

Theatre Calgary's artistic director Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Broadway; Carrie, Off-Broadway revival; Altar Boyz, Off-Broadway) is thrilled to officially announce the casting for the world premiere of Mary and Max - A New Musical, with music and lyrics by Bobby Cronin, book by Crystal Skillman, directed by Arima, choreography by Jenn Rapp, and orchestrations and music supervision by Anna Ebbesen.

Kandel, Producing Artistic Director) with SUMMER SHORTS 2018, the annual festival of six short plays tailor-made for summer viewing, now celebrating its 12th season. SUMMER SHORTS 2018 begins on July 20 and runs through September 1. The general performance schedule is Tuesday - Friday at 7:15 PM; Saturday & Sunday at 2:15 PM and 7:15 PM. Please note, there are no matinee performances on Saturday, July 21, Sunday, July 22, or Saturday, July 28. Individual calendar schedule of performance dates for Series A and Series B is available for viewing/download. Press Opening for Series A is Sunday, July 29 at 2:15 PM. On Sunday night at the 6th annual #giveback concert, Broadway Unlocked raised $48,000 to benefit the Crime Victims Treatment Center at WNYC's The Greene Space.

Broadway Unlocked founder Jessica Ryan announced today that the performance lineup for the sixth annual #giveback concert slated for Sunday, May 13 at 7.30pm at WNYC's The Greene Space (44 Charlton Street) has been updated.  Along with producers Kelly Weaver and Mike Borges, Broadway Unlocked is bringing Broadway favorites together to perform and raise funds for the Crime Victims Treatment Center, a not-for-profit organization committed to helping people heal from violent crime.  The live concert is directed by Nathan Tysen (Tuck Everlasting, Amelie).

The Cabaret Showdown is a monthly game show produced by Sound Street Productions in association with Frigid New York @ Horse Trade since 2011. This unique competition is a mixture of live karaoke and musical improvisation, with a game board. Contestants are asked to choose songs from various categories with no knowledge of what the song will be until 30 seconds before they sing. The winner from each month receives a free one-hour showcase performance at the Kraine Theater presented the following month. Contestants can register in advance at the official website.

Nine years later, hundreds of students have studied musical theatre at NYFA.
