It's been seen in over 30 countries and in 12 different languages worldwide since 1996. It's currently playing to packed houses in cities across the country in its newly-launched 15th national touring production. On Friday, August 30, the company is pleased to welcome Ryan Silverman (The Phantom of the Opera, Passion) in his debut engagement in the role of 'that silver-tongued Prince of the Courtroom' Billy Flynn. He'll be joined on by celebrated CHICAGO veteran Roz Ryan (Dreamgirls, 'Amen'), who returns as Matron 'Mama' Morton on Sunday, September 1. Disney's THE LION KING to Premiere in Brazil, 2013; MARY POPPINS Goes to Mexico City, 11/14

Disney's THE LION KING will make its South American premiere in São Paulo, Brazil. T4F (Time For Fun), will present the production with its opening night on March 7th, 2013 at the Teatro Abril. THE LION KING in São Paulo will mark two firsts: as the largest stage musical ever presented in Brazil and the first time the show has been performed in Portuguese. The Disney and Cameron Mackintosh musical, MARY POPPINS will be produced in Mexico City by OCESA. The production will be performed for the first time in Spanish and will begin performances on November 14th, 2012 at the Telmex Cultural Center, in Mexico City. (more...)

BWW Reviews: Bianca Marroquin and Cast Razzle Dazzle Durham Audiences in CHICAGO

Tuesday night at DPAC was a good news/bad news situation. The bad news: the much-publicized Christie Brinkley was not able to perform her role of Roxie Hart in Chicago, due to illness. The good news: Bianca Marroquin was flown in from NYC, right from the Broadway production of Chicago to fill in for Brinkley. The best news: Marroquin is brilliant! She absolutely oozes star quality from every pore of her body, and the audience forgot, within seconds of Marroquin's entrance, that they were not seeing the person they thought they would see in the role.
