    On January 29th, over 200 guests filled the Circle Ball Room at The Breaker's in Palm Beach for a thrilling evening of dinner, dance and music hosted by actor and singer Gianni Russo of "The Godfather" fame thanks to the efforts of a group of powerhouse chairs and committee members. International Chair was Herme De Wyman. Gala Co-Chairs were Anka Palitz, Jennifer Myerberg and Ann Van Ness. Dinner chairs were George J. Palladino and Jerrold St. George.     Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick, Managing Director Jeff Griffin and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today that its production of Ivan Turgenev's A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY, starring Peter Dinklage and Taylor Schilling, will extend through Saturday, February 28 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). The production had been schedules to close February 22. Directed by Erica Schmidt, the cast also includes Peter Appel, Ian Etheridge, Anthony Edwards, Mike Faist, Elizabeth Franz, James Joseph O'Neil, Elizabeth Ramos, Thomas Jay Ryan, Annabella Sciorra, Frank Van Putten, Megan West and Kate Wetherhead.     The Kansas City Theater League presents Chicago at the Kauffman Performing Arts Center January 20 through January 25. The musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Bob Fosse and Ebb is set in Prohibition-era Chicago. It is the tale of two women in the Cook County Jail charged with murder, both fighting for fame that may keep them from the gallows. The interview with Terra C.     Happy Birthday, Bebe Neuwirth! Neuwirth made her Broadway debut in the role of Sheila in A Chorus Line in 1980. She later appeared in revivals of Little Me (1982) Sweet Charity (1986), for which she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and Damn Yankees (1994). 1996 saw her play the role of Velma Kelly in the Broadway revival of Chicago. That role brought her her greatest stage recognition to date, and several awards including the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. Neuwirth would later return to the still-running revival of Chicago in 2006, this time in the role of Roxie Hart.She will next return to the musical as 'Mama Morton' in January 2014. (more...)
