The Public Theater just opened the North American premiere of Girl from the North Country. Written and directed by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Conor McPherson with music and lyrics by music icon Bob Dylan, Girl from the North Country weaves the music of our greatest poet-singer-songwriter into a piercing drama about home, heart, and the searching determination of the American soul. This new musical has been extended three times and will now run through Sunday, December 23.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Miles Teller and Tom Cruise are set to rule the skies as aerial aces in the upcoming sequel Top Gun: Maverick.

The Theatre Group at SBCC will start the season July 11-28, 2018 in the Garvin Theatre with the musical, GREASE.  Book, lyrics and music by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

Bailey Edwards, son of actor and director Anthony Edwards has announced his lead role in independent psychological thriller, “M.O.M.” (Mothers of Monsters). The film is about a single mother who suspects her son is a psychopath capable of murder. When he slips through the cracks of the system she is forced to take matters into her own hands.

The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) announced the 2018 Drama League Awards Winners on Friday afternoon for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award.

Producer Hal Luftig announced today that co-producer Nyle DiMarco will host a talkback for the audience at Children of a Lesser God today, May 15, following the 7:00pm show. DiMarco will join the cast immediately following the performance for a moderated discussion and an opportunity for audience members to ask questions. "Children of a Lesser God," the award-winning play about a deaf woman and her teacher, is back on Broadway. Megyn Kelly TODAY welcomes stars Lauren Ridloff and Joshua Jackson, who reveal how Ridloff, who was born deaf, landed the role. Jackson also comments on what may happen next on his TV series "The Affair."
