In April 2023, the Czech Republic's Ostrava Center for New Music will present two concerts by Ostravská banda in New York City with a program of music by Czech and American composers: on April 20 at the Buchwald Theater at Brooklyn College (part of the new Leonard & Claire Tow Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College) and on April 21 at Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan.

On Wednesday, April 6th at 7pm, the S.E.M Ensemble will perform works for string quartet, double bass, percussion, and marimba. The program will combine music of the 1950s by Morton Feldman; the 1990s, by Frederic Rzewski and Alvin Lucier; recent works by Petr Kotik, Ana Sokolovic, and Jordan Dykstra, and a premiere by Daniel O'Connor.

S.E.M. Ensemble to Present Three Live Concerts in May

The S.E.M. Ensemble, directed by Petr Kotik, will perform an in-person mini-tour across Brooklyn and Manhattan on May 16th, 19th and 20th. Since each concert will have limited seating in accordance with current COVID-19 guidelines, the ensemble will offer the same program three times to reach an audience similar to a single, pre-COVID concert.
