As part of its unique development process, Amazon gives customers an opportunity to provide feedback on which pilots they want turned into series that are then available to Prime members. During pilot season, any Amazon customer in the US, UK, and Germany can watch, rate and comment on the pilots. At the end of pilot season, that feedback helps determine the shows that become an Amazon Original Series. To date, customers have helped Amazon greenlight 13 series including the multi-Golden Globe-winning show Transparent, which will return for a second season later this year. (more...)

As BroadwayWorld reported last night, Disney's FROZEN is aiming to hit the stage by 2017. According to a report by the Daily Mail, the movie musical's Oscar-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez met with the film's writer and co-director Jennifer Lee, head of Disney Theatricals Thomas Schumacher, and Broadway and West End director Alex Timbers to discuss their options. Lee is writing the book with guidance from the Lopezes, who have also written 'a couple' of new songs for the show. (more...)

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present the 19th Annual Festival from August 14 - 30, 2014. Each year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. General FringeNYC applications for 2015 are currently being accepted for participants in all genres (theatre, dance, puppetry, performance art, multi-media, etc.).
